The staff here is attentive, friendly and accommodating. Eleni was great, as was the trainee trailing her. The place is nicely setup with an open backyard patio that has a retractable ceiling for when the weather is not so nice. The sliding bathroom doors with a latch closure are whimsical and make good use of the available space. Now for the food. The saganaki presentation was a dining delight and the grilled octopus was as expected. The main courses were acceptable and warrant a closer look when coming out. The combo gyro platter had two souvlaki sticks and gyro meat with lemon potatoes. The gyro meat was slightly overcooked, or overheated, as the meat leaned on the drier side. The roasted lemon potatoes needed more lemon, I make them better at home and I am not Greek. The seafood platter contained two scallops, two giant shrimps/prawns and a lobster tail that was slightly undercooked. Overall, it was a nice dining experience that will benefit from a few tweaks once management sees this review. For the price of the evening, a small Greek salad that can be shared by two before the appetizers come out and/or the inclusion of a lemon potato side option for the seafood platter would make dinner here more appealing. The rice pilaf that came with the seafood platter was more like a tomato risotto or wet paella. I did not love it. I only had one beer, sometimes 2-3 is more common. Although the waitress gave us a Greek drink on the house (it wasn't ouzo, it could have cost more, I forgot the name) and a baklava portion, I still left feeling less satisfied than I expected. Overall, when all is considered, I enjoyed my meal but had much better options closer to me in Queens. I will return, as I told Eleni I would. I expect it...
Read moreJust dined here for a late lunch/early dinner. Disappointed to be leaving a 1-star review as I was hoping to really enjoy this spot.
The rating is primarily due to the inedible food - they first bring out a potato as a free app with olive tapenade. The potato was raw.
Next, we ordered the hummus which was grainy and tastes no different than store bought hummus. The pita bread also tested commercial and store bought.
For our main course, we ordered the mussels which we had to send back as the broth was tasteless and the mussels just didn’t seem good quality or that fresh. We also ordered the filet mignon skewers which was $40 and came with ONE very small, dry, low quality meat skewer that I’m 99% positive was no more than 4oz. and definitely not filet mignon. It tasted like the cheapest type of meat you could by and I couldn’t believe I had to pay $40. I could get a 12 oz high quality filet mignon at a steakhouse for $65.
Not only that - the grilled vegetables were completely raw and inedible !!!
Spare your energy, time and money and don’t eat here. Currently writing this review from a Mexican spot two blocks away because I left completely hungry and...
Read moreOur experience at Meraki Greek Bistro was absolutely incredible. Having recently returned from our honeymoon in Greece, we’ve been on a mission to find the most authentic Greek food in the States — and Meraki has been the clear standout.
We started with the mezze trio and calamari. Every spread in the trio was full of bold, vibrant flavor, and the calamari was seasoned to perfection — easily some of the best we’ve had.
For our entrée, we shared the gyro platter family-style, and it did not disappoint. The portions were generous, and every protein was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor.
We were also celebrating my birthday, and the staff went above and beyond by treating us to a slice of baklava. It was rich, flaky, and the perfect sweet ending to the meal.
A special shoutout to our server, Brisa, who made the night even more memorable. She was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable — striking the perfect balance of being present without ever feeling intrusive. Her thoughtful service truly elevated our experience.
We truly can’t say enough good things about Meraki. We’re visiting from Virginia, but it’s now a must-visit spot whenever...
