3.5 stars. Okay so this is a weird one. The food was EXCELLENT, super fresh fish, really lightly but expertly seasoned. But that’s kind of where it ends. Omakase (imo) should always feel like a somewhat luxurious experience since you’re paying upwards of $100 per person (we got the regular omakase each and a sake carafe and the bill came to $300+). SO the space is really beautiful but the first thing we notice is that they are playing really weirdly boppy pop - think kesha, Katie Perry, Natasha beddingfield. Nothing intimate or sexy whatsoever about that. It’s probably faux pas but we asked them if they could put on something a bit more lowkey and they were like yeah no sorry. Then the actual serving experience. It was the FASTEST omakase I’ve ever had. Our last course (I think 15?) was served to us 33 minutes to the dot after we sat down. And I’m not a very fast eater - at one point I had two different pieces on my plate. Even with us ordering two extra add ons at the end, we were out in under an hour. It felt incredibly rushed, not thoughtfully served at all. The chef was really nice and said the name of each fish when he gave it to us but that was basically it. There was zero pacing and I just walked out of there feeling really underwhelmed, despite how good the food was. Considering the price point, I would much rather go to places that offer an immersive overall evening where the vibe matches the meal. That’s all, take what you...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of experiencing a 15-course tasting menu that was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the warm and inviting ambiance, but it was the food and the amazing Chef Sato that truly made the evening unforgettable.
Each course was a delightful surprise, beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The chef's creativity and expertise were evident in every bite, blending unique ingredients and techniques to create dishes that were both flavorful and comforting. It felt like a journey through time and space back to Japan.
What set this experience apart was Chef Sato’s personal touch. Not only did he prepare an extraordinary meal, but his engaging personality and passion for his craft shone through with every dish making the evening even more enjoyable.
Overall exceptional dining experience, masterfully executed by Chef Sato who is as delightful as he is talented. The summer playlist was also very enjoyable and we even asked for it to save on our Spotify :) I cannot recommend it highly enough. Five stars, a must try...
Read moreI came here for dinner one evening and had a great time. The inside of the omkase room is comfortable and casual, but still nice. There's a bar section, but also two booths for you to sit at if you choose. We ended up choosing to sit at their booths. We came at 7pm on a Wednesday evening and there was still plenty of space, so you could definitely do a walk-in here.
We chose their original omakase set, which included 1 appetizer, 13 nigiri, and 1 kaisendon for $100. We also got a carafe of sake. Everything was great. My favorites of this omakase set were their botan ebi, miso black cod, and uni kaisendon. We also decided to follow up with an otoro handroll and uni nigiri. Loved those pieces and thought that they did them really well. This spot is more traditional (less innovative with their pieces/garnishes) and has a bigger focus on white fish. With each piece, we were shown a powerpoint and picture of the fish. Staff was great. Cool experience, and good omakase in...
