Mi Casa Cantina — Restaurant in New York

Perhaps the worst burrito I’ve ever had, including taco bell & gas station microwave. Weirdly, this is the second time in a few years that I ate there (I forgot how bad it was), both times were exceptionally bad. Bits of ripped wax paper and foil tucked into the burrito. Wax paper stuck to the tortilla.

Thats not even to mention the actual food. I don’t think spices were used at any stage of the cooking. Not in any of the ingredients, not in the pork, definitely not in the very confused, astonishingly flavorless hot sauce? salsa? it came with.

Mushy mushy mushy.

I didn’t know there was a way to slow cook pork to remove all of the flavor out of it. They found the method, apparently.

For the privilege of eating a burrito that an infant could enjoy, you will pay only $19.00.

Come here for the drinks (as long as you’re ok spending $$$$ as the average cocktail is approx $27) but do not come here for the food. The waiter was nice and efficient. That’s the most positive I can give. I ordered the loaded barbacoa burrito. It is incredibly dry. The vegetables are raw and it’s bland. It listed that it had queso in it. None in sight. Not worth the $$. Salsa is cheap bottled stuff, not like a good cantina or even a decent Mexican restaurant. I was quite disappointed. The pictures actually look better than in-person. My beer was good tho. Lastly, the seats are incredibly uncomfortable. My feet and legs kept falling asleep and I couldn’t get comfortable at all. Maybe to keep people from hanging around? Ordered vodka and soda water but they did not have the requested vodka. Turns out instead of letting me know, the bartender complained to the manager and gave a double of something else in a short glass. When noted it should be in a tall, the bartender rudely said we don't have the vodka you ordered so I gave you xxx. I verified it was double and could I get it in a tall. He was frustrated and pour the short into a tall and added some more soda water. Garnish just dumped in glass. Don't take frustration out on customer.
