I planned a three-day staycation in Lower Manhattan for my husband's 55th Birthday Weekend. The reservations were made nearly a week in advance. I let them know we would be celebrating his birthday and that it was a special night. I also told them that my husband is diabetic, but still enjoys great food, with the appropriate modifications. They were kind and assured me that we would be very satisfied with a delightful evening. Kayleigh Kehme was the person I spoke to more than once. She was very sweet and helpful. We entered the restaurant through our hotel lobby (Club Quarter at World Trade Center) and we were warmly greeted by Kayleigh. She was as lovely in person as she was over the phone. She escorted us downstairs to our table, where the menu had my husband's name and birthday emblazoned on top of both menus. Our waiter, Patrick, who was welcoming, was fantastic. He came to the table, fully prepared to make delicious, diabetic-friendly recommendations. He was friendly and knowledgeable about everything on the menus. He was also super attentive. Our food and drinks were amazing. When we were full, we decided against dessert. We are also being careful, health-wise. Patrick still came back to the table with assorted berries, to complete the birthday feast. What a great touch. Very much appreciated. My husband and I had a terrific, celebratory, and romantic, evening. My husband was elated. So was I. The Morton's crew went above and beyond to please us. They certainly exceeded our expectations. This was a great, dining experience/date night to commemorate an important milestone. We smiled all the way back to our hotel room. That trip was quick and very convenient, as we took the restaurant's elevator straight to our room. I highly recommend...
Read moreVery disappointing experience. When we spend over $400 on a dinner for two, we expect better all around. We did not make a reservation because it consistently told us there were available tables for 2 in the “standard” area (non bar seating), in addition to bar seating. We arrived and they tried to turn us away saying they were fully booked. So I had to mention the open table availability and magically they had a table for us in 5 minutes. Our waiter was spotty at best. Water glasses not refilled. We had to pour our own $100 wine vs having it poured and refilled for us. The exception to this was when the nagar came over to tell us it would be 5 more minutes for our dinner entrees while he was refilling our wine glasses. This was at least 5 minutes after the waiter told us it would be just another 5 minutes for the food. I believe in total we waited at least 45 min for our food. I had asked for additional bleu cheese dressing with my salad when it was brought to the table and that never appeared until I flagged down the manager and asked again. When the steaks arrived my $75 dry aged strip was raw in the middle (asked for medium rare) so that had to be sent back, along with the creamed spinach that arrived cold. The icing on the cake was when a cross between DJ Khalid and Pitbull walked in and was seated 2 tables over from us and proceeded to talk and shout loudly over FaceTime on his phone for 25 minutes without anyone from the restaurant saying anything to him and zero consideration for any of the other patrons. Our coffees were comped in the end as a gesture but we still left $400 lighter and extremely...
