I planned a three-day staycation in Lower Manhattan for my husband's 55th Birthday Weekend. The reservations were made nearly a week in advance. I let them know we would be celebrating his birthday and that it was a special night. I also told them that my husband is diabetic, but still enjoys great food, with the appropriate modifications. They were kind and assured me that we would be very satisfied with a delightful evening. Kayleigh Kehme was the person I spoke to more than once. She was very sweet and helpful. We entered the restaurant through our hotel lobby (Club Quarter at World Trade Center) and we were warmly greeted by Kayleigh. She was as lovely in person as she was over the phone. She escorted us downstairs to our table, where the menu had my husband's name and birthday emblazoned on top of both menus. Our waiter, Patrick, who was welcoming, was fantastic. He came to the table, fully prepared to make delicious, diabetic-friendly recommendations. He was friendly and knowledgeable about everything on the menus. He was also super attentive. Our food and drinks were amazing. When we were full, we decided against dessert. We are also being careful, health-wise. Patrick still came back to the table with assorted berries, to complete the birthday feast. What a great touch. Very much appreciated. My husband and I had a terrific, celebratory, and romantic, evening. My husband was elated. So was I. The Morton's crew went above and beyond to please us. They certainly exceeded our expectations. This was a great, dining experience/date night to commemorate an important milestone. We smiled all the way back to our hotel room. That trip was quick and very convenient, as we took the restaurant's elevator straight to our room. I highly recommend...

Very disappointing experience. When we spend over $400 on a dinner for two, we expect better all around. We did not make a reservation because it consistently told us there were available tables for 2 in the “standard” area (non bar seating), in addition to bar seating. We arrived and they tried to turn us away saying they were fully booked. So I had to mention the open table availability and magically they had a table for us in 5 minutes. Our waiter was spotty at best. Water glasses not refilled. We had to pour our own $100 wine vs having it poured and refilled for us. The exception to this was when the nagar came over to tell us it would be 5 more minutes for our dinner entrees while he was refilling our wine glasses. This was at least 5 minutes after the waiter told us it would be just another 5 minutes for the food. I believe in total we waited at least 45 min for our food. I had asked for additional bleu cheese dressing with my salad when it was brought to the table and that never appeared until I flagged down the manager and asked again. When the steaks arrived my $75 dry aged strip was raw in the middle (asked for medium rare) so that had to be sent back, along with the creamed spinach that arrived cold. The icing on the cake was when a cross between DJ Khalid and Pitbull walked in and was seated 2 tables over from us and proceeded to talk and shout loudly over FaceTime on his phone for 25 minutes without anyone from the restaurant saying anything to him and zero consideration for any of the other patrons. Our coffees were comped in the end as a gesture but we still left $400 lighter and extremely...

We went to Morton's for restaurant week to try them out. It's quite a large restaurant, situated on two floors. The ground floor has a bar and tables and the basement has a more formal dining setting, all with elegant decor. Unfortunately, it suffers the same problem as with all the steak restaurants I've tried so far in the US, the food is okay, but uninteresting. That's pretty much my summation of all 3 courses. Nothing really pops out to say it's that great. It probably didn't help that I'd just been to Argentina and Brazil where the meats are done just better overall and cheaper to boot. I also wasn't impressed by the surcharges they were putting against the restaurant week menu for certain items. It's optional, but it just says to me that they're trying to get you to spend a lot more money. One or two I can sort of understand if they were really expensive ingredients but there were at least 4 surcharges on there and frankly the dishes weren't deserving of it. If you can't fit it in within the cost criteria of the restaurant week menu then you're not doing it right. I've certainly had 3-course meals that are better than this for LESS than the restaurant week dinner, so it can be done. As someone else mentioned on their review, after the starters were cleared away, so was the side bread plate. But the bread was left on the table! I've had that happen at other restaurants, but not at a restaurant that's billed itself as high-end. Looks like the staff need to be trained a bit more in that respect. On the plus side it was very quiet due to not many people being there and the service was pleasant.

People are saying “when you go to a steakhouse, you have to get the steak!” I totally agree! I ordered fillet mignon and lobster entree. The fillet mignon was very tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned with garlic butter. I ordered medium well and it was perfect. It wasn’t dry at all. Unfortunately, the lobster was a little over cooked. As you can see on the picture, it shrunk a lot. I could’ve just skipped the lobster and got a bigger steak, 8 oz instead of 4 oz. The crab cake was alright for me. It tasted a little plain. Since I’m from MD, I might be really picky about crabs. I’m so used to having MD blue crabs. So I don’t think this one is MD blue crabs. Marylanders usually say, “Don’t order crab cake if you’re outside MD, because you more likely will get disappointed.” Most of the time it’s true. I tried a little bit of the mashed potatoes. It’s delicious! The bacon wrapped sea scallop is a little over cooked as well. It tasted good though. The wagyu meatball is ok. I didn’t try the miso marinated sea bass. But my coworker said it’s really good. I’m going to try that next time I go back here. I probably try the one in MD location.
