Mrs. Georgia is the best kept secret in New York City! The adjaruli khachapuri and imeruli khachapuri are must trys. They are rich, creamy homemade cheese and the bread is perfectly baked and yeasty. The khinkal are juicy, gigantic soup dumplings that are incredibly savory and deliciousâI especially appreciated their vegetarian options. We ordered two plates at first and ended up getting two more because they were so good! The mushroom and cheese are so satisfying for vegetarians and unlike anything you can order elsewhere. Their pumpkin soup is divinely velvety resembling a creamy butternut squash. We also loved their double fried fries and arepa cornbread, which pairs well with salad or soup. Their selection of Georgian wine is also not to be missed!
As amazing as the food is the ambiance, it is cozy, clean, and incredibly inviting. We spent hours just leisurely chatting and eating. Even the bathroom was remarkably decorated, with little details like Parisian perfume sprays in the handwashing station. I really appreciate how much thought they put into everything! For a large meal for five, it came out to just over $35 per person, which was a steal for how much food we got.
I make the trip to Brighton Beach every time I miss Georgian food, but Iâm so excited that Mrs. Georgia has brought the best Georgian food to...
Read moreWe fell in love with Georgian food after a trip there and was hoping this would be our new go-to spot but the combination of poor service, high prices, bad meat quality, and irregular and small portions means we still will have to go to Brooklyn, Jersey or the city for good Georgian :( We paid $130 and change before tip for 3 apps, 2 glasses of wine, and an inedible 2 piece $25 kebab that they must be used to people not eating as returning it to the kitchen uneaten raised no flags. This is of course after multiple attempts to locate staff to address the issue but the whole restaurant was empty the two times we got up and looked around. Also noting if you order multiple apps you get less pieces of each so donât expect the portions in the photos shown here - I have no idea, something about limits per weight per item, as an industry professional Iâve never heard apps by weight and not piece count, but apparently thereâs limits here on how much theyâll give you even if you order more. Overall it ended up nearly a $200 meal with tip and counting the counter serve kebab from Steinway we had to get after since the only meat dish they werenât out of was bad. One star added for Georgian...
Read moreI was really excited for Georgian restaurant to come to Astoria but unfortunately our visit at this place was very unpleasant one. First of all, the entree was served way before our appetizers arrived followed by a cold bread which came with an extra charge. Half an hour later came an appetizer, variety of dips, which were tasty but didnât know what should they be eaten with. We waited entire hour for dumplings, so we tried to cancel the order but were told each time we asked a waiter that they will be arriving within minutes. To our surprise, the waiter brought us instead of 4 pieces of dumplings (1 order) 18 dumplings which no way we could have eaten that amount. When confronted with the waiter that we only ordered one order of dumplings, he got very defensive and told us that we ordered four. I told him that the dumplings were only an appetizer and we only ordered 4 pieces not 4 orders and we should be told what we are ordering. It was very unpleasant experience and we will never be back there. The service is very slow and food is way overpriced. The only thing I loved is their Georgian red wine, really delicious. We wish them well but they just lost us...
