I was served dry, probably day-old pastries, while other Romanian native customers were served the freshly made baked goods. It seemed to me the bakery discriminates against Americans. The reason I'm sharing this, is because I speak Romanian, and while I was waiting in line, I heard the conversations between the cashiers and the Romanian customers in front of me. The cashiers would hand the bags of pastries to the Romanian customers assuring them that they were receiving "hot and straight from the oven" goods. The service I received was horrendous as well. All in all, this bakery has offered me disappointing products and service. What made my experience disgusting was that I got to experience their deliberate and intentional deceiving practices against English speaking people, such as myself. Shame on you and your staff - have you forgotten that you came in this country as immigrants, and that this country and the American customers have helped you realize your dreams when your own native country mistreated you? English speaking customers: please save yourselves the aggravation of dealing with such a horrible establishment, because their pastries are not that...

Only solely Romanian bakery in NY
One of their popular pastries is the Savarina. New York Tines once listed it as one of 25 essential dishes to eat in NYC .
It's their version of Romanian Baba Au rhum. A tiny cake baked in a muffin tin, soaked in rum syrup, filled with whipped cream and topped with jam and rum.
It's spongy, creamy, fruity and boozy and really really good. Wow!
There are so many great sweet and savory pastries here . The dobos is a colorful incredibly designed cake. Their Easter season Cozonac bread filled with chocolate is really good and took one home. I was told there are lines down the block to get this bread during Easter.
I also had the amandina which is just chocolate heaven. The puffs filled with cheese, meat or mushrooms are really nice little bites.
Big thank you to Maria at the bakery for introducing me to the Savarina and helping me experience the various Romanian pastries. And to Robert for sharing his families journey and his...

We, would you know it, today was a very different situation, our own people, the Romanians treated us with disgust 🥹😌🫠. We are so disappointed ☹️ and no longer will we be coming back.
You see, when you travel from afar with young children, they can't always hold it in for hrs and hrs, and when our small child went in, darting for the bathroom 🪥, a bathroom he had used before in the past, was met with stairs, seeing that , I politily asked, "Aveti Baie " my question was interrupted with a disgusting No. So you see, it wasn't that we couldn't use the bathroom this time around, it was the way they treated my small child and myself 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥲🥹.
In the end, even-though they have delicious food, it is the people, the ability to distinguish, help, and care for one-another that makes the world go...
