Hi again guys, Chef Mike again, I wanted to add more about the wonderful experience at the cafe What they created here is a taste of Home. It reminds me of back in Italy where everyone gets together and just has an amazing time even when they don't know each other. It's a place where you could just come meet. New people drink great coffee and hot tea, and try some Algerian homemade desserts. I recently had the couscous and lamb, which was to die for it was cooked so perfectly, And had an amazing amazing blend of spices of that tantalized my taste buds and would highly recommend, but the beef was like butter, it fell apart and with the amazing broths that are created from spices you can't find here in stores, come and try and experience it for your self I am amazed how people Who don't know each other and spending hours eating and drinking and talking in a establishment I told the owners I was proud of them because in three years they created a second home and a great café/restaurant where in the industry it is so tough to survive especially in tough times prices have gone high. It is the perfect amount of food for a great price and a circular menu. Come on the weekends for the special Algerian cuisine As someone who comes everyday Hi this is Chef from Mike. I’ve been coming here for almost 3 years since it opened up. I’m a big coffee person and their coffee is amazing and very bowl with excellent flavor, if you’re a coffee lover, please come down. Then I try their food and was blown away. Being a chef for 20 years, they have traditional food that is succulent and made with home quality as if you were eating at home. The ambience is spectacular. Sometimes I spend several hours doing work and working on recipes and talking food with the owner. It feels like you’re home, and is very relaxing. It’s like my second home the owners are professional and are passionate about their food and desserts that they prepare. They work hard every single day. Please come down and enjoy some traditional food from their country along with beautiful...

Hospitality and kindness the Southern Mediterranean way. Hospitality like hardly seen in NYC. If you have not yet visited The Kasbah Café you are missing out on something phenomenal. Clearly the owners Amina and Halim are doing something right which you have yet to see in this city : their styles, personalities, warmth and love for life and people are all about hospitality. A quality Algerians are known for and which you will find here in an exceptional way because Algerian hospitality is unique, warm, attentive and generous. Algerian hospitality is one where your hosts are happy to make you happy. Algerian hospitality is one where your hosts would give you the world and at The Kasbah Café for me THAT came with a refreshing mint tea, a memorable merguez sandwich, a chicken and mustroom quiche and interesting deserts. The baguette is started, raised and baked on the premises: its taste was outstanding and perhaps the best bread I ever had in NYC. The custom-made artisanal merguez were moist, juicy, tasty, bursting with flavors and cooked to perfection. As I am writing this review, I still recall the addictive house-secret sauce the sandwich was made of. The chicken and mushroom quiche was doughless with a crispy top and resembled a salty tatin loaded with a mix of creative textures. The Kasbah Café is family owned and upon entering you will instinctively feel in a typical Mediterranean home: kids playing, families enjoying an early dinner, guys gathered to share an Algerian traditional late afternoon round of coffees with pastries and fresh water. The vibe clearly reminded me of my native Algeria and its friendly and sensual lifestyle. The menu is simple and focused on quality, freshness and fare deals. Do not visit The Kasbah Café, run to it, support it and become a fan of it because this place is truly a hidden gem, we owe to preserve on the NYC...
Read moreA Taste of Algeria in the Heart of New York!
I had the pleasure of dining at Kasbacafe, a hidden gem in New York, and I must say, it was an unforgettable culinary experience! As soon as I walked in, I was enveloped in the warm and cozy atmosphere, reminiscent of Algerian hospitality.
The menu boasts an array of authentic Algerian dishes, all made from scratch with love and care. I ordered the Sardine Tajine, Merguez, and the legendary Algerian Couscous, which did not disappoint. Each bite was a masterclass in flavors, textures, and aromas. The sardines were tender and juicy, the merguez was spicy and savory, and the couscous was fluffy and light.
But what truly impressed me was the attention to detail and the commitment to authenticity. Every component, from the salad to the bread, was homemade and crafted with precision. Even the cookies and Algerian delights for dessert were made from scratch!
The service was exceptional, with friendly and knowledgeable staff happy to guide us through the menu. The prices were reasonable, especially considering the generous portions and high-quality ingredients.
Kasbacafe is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Algerian cuisine in New York. I left feeling satisfied, yet eager to return and explore more of the menu. Don't miss out on this culinary gem – book your table now and taste the magic of Algeria in the heart...
