We had just flown cross country from Seattle, we are walking through Times Square and decided to stop in here for a bite to eat.

Looked like a great neighborhood bar, full of people having a good time, but it was extremely loud for dinner. You could hardly hear each other from across the table. The hostess at the front door was great. Took us about 10 minutes to get a table.

We had a drink and appetizer, and then I ordered my favorite a Rueben sandwich. How disappointing, the corn beef was cut thick, but it was extremely dry, and had a big line of gristle running all the way through it. I think they forgot to put sauerkraut on it. There must’ve been only like a tablespoon of it on there and I know for sure they forgot , the dressing in the Swiss cheese. Was super dry.

The worst part of the sandwich it’s like they grilled it and burnt it, so they turned the bread upside down and put everything on top of the burnt bread, and the put the sandwich in the toaster because it had the toaster grill marks on the bread. Was disappointed!

Tried several times to get our waitresses attention, but she walked by each time and didn’t acknowledge us. she took our order and that was the last we seen of her. We finally got the servers attention, but by the time he was able to do anything about it, everybody else was done eating and they sat my burnt dry sandwich.

Thank Goddess the spinach dip appetizer was good and so were the french fries.

I would not recommend...

Edit/Update. The manager came back over before we left after seeing the review and berated us. She said "obviously I didn't see it in this light but I did offer to refund or replace it." I told her that I never argued that fact, but I was more offended that she clearly told me I was wrong before and that if lighting was a determination factor in correctly identifying the doneness of the batter why she didn't bother to take it to a better lit area before telling me I was wrong. She then said well you wrote quite a nasty review considering you ate it. I then directed her gaze to a once empty beer glass that I had put all the fish in so I could atleast enjoy the fries. It was already 11:30 pm and didn't want to wait again for a different meal. Since when is being honest and having pics to back it up being nasty and not honest. In all actually I probably would have not written a review if she wasn't so rude to us. They did take the uneaten meal off of the ticket and the waitress was very kind and understanding so I will give 2 stars update but you really need to learn to deal with people especially when the mistake is yours.

Got fish and chips and the batter was still raw on the inside. When I told the waitress a manager or someone came over and told me I was wrong. I have been baking for over 20 years and I definitely know the difference between raw and soggy. Trust me I've lived it. You can clearly look at the pic and...

Sad to say…after coming here Part of our New York trips….they Have lost my business… We walked across the street ordered Two bloody Mary’s they were good. After asking the waiter about their Bloody Mary’s he did not know What was in them. I then spoke with the red head male Waiter about getting an item off the menu of appetizers. Again I asked him if he knew about the brussel sprouts… are they good? How are they prepared? I asked if they were crunchy ? He said yes…when they came they were floating in a watery jam. I was looking for the green? I really tried to eat them…white hard Balls not really cooked. I called him Over telling that they were awful To try to eat…husband ate three I ate two…pushed it away. He never asked to reduce the price Nor wanted to see if he could call a manager over to discuss…. It was not the money it was a issue The waiter did not handle properly… Looking at my bill…I paid for the bad item.. Train the red hair waiter !!!! When I was young I was a waitress… I paid my bill in cash…he never Walked over to pick it up While we were there! He knew the food item was awful He just wanted us to leave .., I am a lady and did not use any Bad words nor did I make a scene… I just left upset… First bad food item First bad waiter Sad from South Carolina Oh yes...

O’Donoghue’s Times Square is a lively Irish pub nestled in the heart of New York City’s Theater District. With its warm ambiance and friendly staff, it offers a welcoming spot for both locals and visitors. Food & Drink: The menu features a variety of traditional Irish and American dishes. Patrons often recommend the Shepherd’s Pie and Fish and Chips for their hearty portions and authentic flavors. The bar boasts 24 beers on tap, including a selection of Irish brews, ensuring a refreshing choice for every guest. That said, food and drinks are a little pricey compared to other spots in the area. Service: Service is generally attentive, with many guests praising the staff’s friendliness and efficiency. However, during peak hours, some have noted slight delays, which is common in bustling city centers. Atmosphere: The pub exudes an authentic Irish charm, featuring cozy interiors and a vibrant atmosphere. It’s an ideal spot to unwind after a day of sightseeing or before catching a Broadway show. Overall: O’Donoghue’s Times Square offers a delightful blend of good food, refreshing drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere. Just be prepared for slightly higher prices. Still worth a visit whether you’re in the city for a short stay or a local looking for a casual dining spot.
