I came here with a party of five for happy hour—we were celebrating some good news and looking for a fun place to gather, and Ofrenda did not disappoint. The happy hour offerings are solid and we ended up trying all the margarita flavors. The Smoky Jalapeño Margarita was the standout for me—balanced, spicy, and perfectly mixed. The Cucumber Margarita was super refreshing, though I requested a Tajín rim and it was forgotten. The Passionfruit Margarita and Prickly Pear Margarita were very sweet—great if you like that kind of profile. I appreciated the different rim options overall, and the regular salt rim is always a classic.
For food, we started with the chicken quesadilla, which was delicious but could’ve used a bit more cheese and definitely a spicy dipping sauce on the side.
The nachos were a miss for me—not your traditional chips, more like fried tortilla halves. While they were loaded with toppings, I missed the texture and sharability of regular chips.
We tried three taco options and they were excellent. Each order came with two. My personal ranking: Hongo (Various Mushrooms) – earthy, flavorful, unexpected Pescado (Tilapia Fish) – fresh and well-seasoned Pollo (Chicken) – still solid, just not as unique as the others
The Tostada De Camarón (shrimp tostada) was just okay—not bad, but not very shareable. I’d probably skip it next time.
On the other hand, we ordered two orders of elotes (each order comes with two halves) and those were a hit—you really can’t go wrong there.
From the regular menu, we shared the pulpo (octopus), which was a standout dish. Perfectly cooked and seasoned, and served with Brussels sprouts and a velvety mashed potato (don’t expect chunks)—a combo that worked really well.
My main feedback is that: •The menu should list the rim options for the margaritas—it’s a nice touch that deserves highlighting. •We were charged $1 for a habanero sauce we asked for to accompany tacos and quesadilla. For a small side condiment, that felt unnecessary—it should be complimentary.
Overall rating: 3.5 stars, but I’m rounding up to 4 because the vibes were great and they were super accommodating with our larger group (with advance notice). Our total came to $328 for five people, with plenty of margaritas and multiple food rounds—fair value for...
Read moreSTAY AWAY. Not worth it. This place is nothing special and they have the worst attitude towards their customers. I arrived early evening, the place was completely empty, and let the hostess know that there would be two of us for about an hour and a half and then our other two friends would be joining us. We were waiting for them to get out of work. She told me they usually only allow people at their tables for two hours. Really strange policy, but whatever. I let her know that my friend and I would just go somewhere else until our other friends arrived because they were the ones who wanted to go there. She then backpedaled and said it was fine for the two of us to stay and that she would just push another table together for us when our other friends arrived. We proceeded to order food and drinks. About a half hour later she seated people at the table next to us, so she clearly didn't plan to push the tables together when our friends arrived like she had offered. When they did arrive we had to ask for a new table that seats four people. She acted annoyed, sat us at a different table and said we could have it for an hour and a half. I got very upset and told her that wasn't ok since I specifically informed her when I got there what the situation was and she convinced us to stay. We would have left and come back if we knew she wasn't going to accommodate us for the entire time. She asked how long we needed the table for and I let her know that we just wanted to be able to order our drinks and food without worrying about getting kicked out at a certain time. Why in the world should I have to convince someone to let me spend money at their establishment???? Absolutely ridiculous. Not long after we paid the check we were asked to get up because a group was "waiting for the table for 15 minutes". We waited by the bar for our friend to finish a phone call, and ten minutes later no one was seated at the table yet. I'm furious that we were treated this way. This BS attitude is everything I hate. I should have trusted my instincts and left immediately and found somewhere else for us all to go. Please don't waste your time or money here. There are soooo many other places nearby where you can get better food and drinks and not deal with a$$holes like...
Read moreI usually never write reviews but I was horrified by my experience. I knew the weather would be nice so I made an outdoor reservation 6 days prior. At the time they were COMPLETELY open, basically no reservations were booked. When I got there the owner told us we needed to sit inside because there was no room outside and if space opened up we could move outside. Frankly, if I was sitting inside I would have went to a better restaurant, we only came to sit outside. We ordered drinks, my sprite was flat but I didn’t care enough to complain. When the waiter came over to take our order I said we were wondering when we were going to be moved outside. The owner then came over and was very rude and told us we couldn’t wait to order our food and that we only had 1.5 hours regardless of if we were inside or outside (I never said I refused to order). He was so rude for no reason even though I was pleasant with a smile. My family is in the food industry so I know the right thing to do is just apologize and try to rectify the situation, not be rude. Eventually we were moved outside. I asked the waiter if empanadas were gluten free and he said no because they are corn tortillas. I told him corn doesn’t not have gluten and he said yes corn has gluten. He argued with me for 5 minutes and I asked multiple times to speak with someone who may have the knowledge. Finally he came back and said the empanadas were gluten free but at that point I was worried about the lack of education on gluten that I was afraid to eat. I ate the food which was sub par, we were there more to people watch but I didn’t get sick so thankfully I guess it was gluten free. I urge the owners to educate their staff on gluten or teach them to go ask someone that does know! Also I urge the owners to not overbook more than they can...
