I’ve been here before and the coffee is good, but the customer service was absolutely horrible - hence the 1 star.

I came in on September 6 around noon. At first, the Asian employee was friendly and helped with my order (one hot caramel latte and one iced drink). However, she handed me two iced drinks. I corrected her and said, “The caramel one was supposed to be hot - if it were just for me, I’d let it go, but it’s for someone else.” She admitted the mistake with, “Oh yeah, oops,” and gave me the hot drink. That’s when I noticed I had been charged $1.50 more.

I politely asked if there was a price difference between hot and cold, and she ignored the question. When I asked for a refund of the difference, she flat-out said no. Then she tried to claim I ordered two iced drinks—which wasn’t true, and she had already admitted her mistake. It wasn’t about the money, but the principle, and I even suggested she could refund the difference or offer something equivalent.

Instead of resolving it professionally, she made a scene in front of other customers, repeatedly refusing. She tried to process a refund but read out the wrong card digits, which weren’t mine. Finally, another employee (a Spanish woman) had to step in and told her to just give me the $1.50 cash and they’ll deal with it later, which she reluctantly did after causing unnecessary drama.

This entire situation could have been handled quickly and respectfully, but instead it was embarrassing, unprofessional, and...

My sacred space ❤️ !! Orso has to be hands down the best coffee shop in the neighborhood. I’ve been coming here for quite some time now and it’s become more than just a place to grab coffee. This isn’t just a coffee shop , it’s a community. The baristas greet you by name , remember your favorite order and ask how your day is going. Shoutout to all of the staff Jeff , Gus , Eli , Erica , and Stacy .. without them my mornings would be incomplete. Taking time and crafting every drink to perfection isn’t easy but these guys nail it each and every time. Their lavender matcha is the best i’ve ever had btw. Even something as simple as a cold brew feels elevated here. Whether i’m having a calm morning , or catching up with friends i know i can always count on orso for a perfect cup of coffee or matcha 😉 , and a warm atmosphere. Thank you to the entire team for creating not just a space but a sense of belonging that i look forward to...

My absolute favorite coffee shop in this area! I go here whenever I want to "treat" myself, as some prior reviews mention, it's a bit pricey, but I would say it's worth it! The chocolate croissants are the best I've had in forever! Also, one review mentioned that it's too noisy to work/study. Perhaps at certain points (but isn't it great that it's well liked?) but I've also relaxed here for one+ hours in the morning (btwn 8-10am, on various weekdays) and it also says lulls. It's a lovely space, and best of all, the staff is phenomenal. Friendly and upbeat--they always act like you're the only customer, when you order! I've had Various lattes here. The flavor choices are awesome too! Had a lavender latte that was groovy! Try it, I bet you'll like it! 😉☕ Note: There is no public restroom and outside seating was available during the good weather only (I hope they continue to offer it...

Orso is undoubtedly the gem of South Brooklyn when it comes to coffee. Their use of the La Marzocco machine, a hallmark of excellence in espresso making, guarantees an exceptional coffee experience every time. The staff at Orso are more than just baristas; they're artisans who blend skill with warmth, making each visit memorable. The ambiance of Orso, characterized by a seamless flow and inviting atmosphere, turns coffee drinking into a delightful ritual. Whether you're a coffee aficionado or just in need of a comforting cup, Orso is the place to be. Truly, the best coffee experience in South Brooklyn!
