This spot is so sexy and seriously a VIBE! Oui Cocktail Lounge officially opened in April 2022 in the heart of Flatbush (aka Little Caribbean) in the buzzing shopping and restaurant area near Brooklyn College. It perfectly embodies and celebrates Flatbush's rich Caribbean culture with island inspired cocktails and bites. It is owned and operated by Trinidadian natives (and nightlife entrepreneurs) Jason Jordan and Adise Bellille. It's so easy to fall in love with this spot when you first walk in. Such a warm ambiance, beautiful decor and incredible staff. The music just elevates the experience even more. You can tell that Jason and Adise put a ton of thought into the layout of this gorgeous establishment. The walls, the lights, the furniture and the artwork. The beautiful white lounge chairs adorned with white pillows that has "Oui" written across them. The stunning bar area. The ultra cool swing at the rear of the restaurant (which is truly Instagram worthy) with the word "Oui" perfectly placed behind it in the center. Every single detail gets a top score in my book.
The organization and presentation were truly on point. We were promptly seated at tables as we walked in. We were then given a detailed presentation of one of their most popular drinks called "Smoke Break." The drink has chamomile rye, ginger, black tea honey, lemon, and black tea smoke. It was a big hit amongst us Yelp Eliters. All of the ingredients complimented each other well. The drink had a nice kick and I loved the smoky flavor. While we sipped on our incredibly crafted cocktail some small bites started coming out. Braised oxtail empanadas, five spice wings, cajun corn ribs, fries and mojito shrimp. Everything was so tasty and full of authentic flavors reminiscent of my dining experiences while vacationing in the Caribbean. My two favorites were definitely the braised oxtail empanadas and the fried mojito shrimp. While munching on those delicious bites I was sipping on their "Spice It Up" drink and it is a MUST try! Wow! It brings the spice and packs a punch. You will not be disappointed.

I wanted to enjoy my time here after seeing a video review about this space on Instagram. But pretty decor does not out weigh bad service. The space was very small and the service was the worst I have ever received in my 30 years of life. This could have been a great experience had the staff been welcoming and trained properly. As a former manager of 8 years and current business owner myself they need a serious training boot camp.
Our waiter was waiting the entire restaurant was unfriendly and did not even give her name. I have never been to a restaurant where drinks and food are bought to the table at different times. I had my drink for 15 mins before my friends got theirâs. And the lamb chops were brought out 20 mins after the rest of the dishes. We werenât a large group so I didnât understand the disconnect. I thought it was known restaurant etiquette that all drinks, or apps, or entrees should arrive at the same time. Our Hookah also took forever to arrive and the coals weren't warm enough so we gave up smoking it. My party was spent twiddling their thumbs as every employee walking avoided eye contact. No apologies, no empathetic reassurance, nothing. Upon bringing issues to the manager on duty, we were met with an attitude. They seemed well staffed and the space canât fit that many customers. So I didnât understand why everything was taking so long. This really ruined the start of what was supposed to be a beautiful night.
This is a gorgeous space and I want nothing more than to see a black business thrive. Please inform your staff to be welcoming and friendly. Create a restaurant map and delegate front of house vs back of house tables for waitstaff. Thereâs no reason why one waitress should be working the whole house alone. She looked so burnt out and it was only 9pm. Please, have the bussers assist in bringing out food and drinks so all arrive at the same time. I won't be back ever again but please work on customer service skills so all guest can...
Read more1st time: it was really good , although it was packed with a lot of people : food was good, service was good and our waiter (I forgot his name) but he was very attentive (8/10 - which is good enough for me to visit a restaurant a 2nd time) 2nd time : Seated immediately, however it took 20 minutes after seating for a waiter to give us any attention (being that I had to flag someone down to ask for a waiter) , food and drinks were served with no napkins and utensils (again I had to flag someone down) . Lastly, a cocktail was ordered however, they ran out of ingredients to make it, which then our waiter or hostess or whoever I was talking to made a suggestion to get another âsimilarâ cocktail - it was not similar at all. It was taken back to bar and instead of changing the drink completely, they added juice to fix the drink that we originally did not like. At this point, my friends and I were frustrated and just wanted to leave. The manager Michelle did her very best to try to rectify the situation (she did take the drink off the bill) but all in all the 18% added gratuity was not paid happily - if it was up to us we would have not paid gratuity because it was not deserved, which is really disappointing being that itâs in the neighborhood but things like this is why I go to the city for good service⌠5/10 (The food and Michelle is whatâs...
