I ordered 2 bowls. The tomato bowl consisted of thin pieces of beef with noodles in basically a tomato soup. The mapo tofu bowl had pieces of tofu with minced pork with a white rice base. The wontons in the chili oil was good but the wontons were small. The spring rolls were average. The big problem was when I attempted to order the wonton noodle soup with chicken and another bowl with chicken. The woman taking the order stated that the restaurant had no chicken!! I have never entered an Asian restaurant and been informed that there was no chicken. Very disappointed. Additionally the website has a long list of options customers can choose from to change a dish and create your own. The woman who I spoke to seemed surprised and knew very little about these options. The restaurant did not have any menu informing customers of these options. The restaurant needs to update the website if customers are seeking food options that apparently don't exist at this location. The restaurant is part of a chain of additional restaurants at...
Read moreLots of room for improvement here. We really, really wanted to love this place They’re new so I hope they’ll get better with time. Lacking customer service and courtesy. Two high top tables for four and then counters against the glass. Not comfy - better for takeout, I guess. They have canned/bottled drinks on display but you can’t order them because they’re out. When asked if we could just have the cans that were on display - no. It was 54° and rainy outside so we were looking forward to hot soup and hot tea. No hot tea. And the soup was barely lukewarm. Spring rolls were all wrapper, no filling - served without any sort of dipping sauce. My braised pork dish had potential but again, it was lukewarm and the pork was tough. The sauce was congealed because it wasn’t hot. I understand this is a fast casual concept but in Chinese food, temperature is of utmost importance. I hope this place gets...
Read moreSo first of all, they call themselves a szechuan place but there's only one or two spicy dishes on the entire menu, it's more like a ramen place. The food is not great, service is pretty slow and the music was loud and obnoxious and I listen to pretty much anything, so for the music to drive me out of the restaurant was a major accomplishment, and not a good one. The dumplings were barely hot, the crispy chicken not that crispy and there was a flavor in there I couldn't place but wasn't crazy about. I got the spicy noodles and honestly I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be ramen or noodles in a sauce. It was completely in between but for the one inch layer of chili oil floating on the top, so I basically left the entire bowl of broth behind.
I wanted nothing more to LOVE this place since I live in the new building next door. Sadly I doubt I will ever go back, I will have to be totally...
