Peppa's Jerk Chicken (Queens) — Restaurant in New York

We decided to try Peppas on Monday. When we arrived we noticed a cash only sign so we decided to try to order and run to the bank that was the first issue as the lady became very abrasive when we asked for a total and she said it was $81 for 4 plates. She wouldn’t fix the food while we’re gone so we came back and ordered 5 plates and it was $83 so I don’t think she ever really put anything into the register. When we got back inside the second time a different lady took the order so we assumed we would receive better customer service but she had an attitude as well. The lady fixing the food was nice. I ordered a plate with Mac and cheese & veggies and made sure to ask before I paid and she didn’t charge extra. When the lady went to make the plate she first tried to have the lady put the veggies with the pasta but I corrected her and she started screaming about it was extra. After receiving horrible customer service twice in one night we had decided not to go back. However that wasn’t the end of the issues. Shortly after eating the food my mother had a severe allergic reaction to something in the food that resulted in us having to take her to the emergency room. I’m not sure what there putting in the food but she had ate what she ordered before from other places and never had a reaction. Be careful where you choose...

As a chef/food critic/promoter/traveler/business-owner, they get a 3/average... Flatbush Spot is much better. Customer service here, HORRIBLE. These women are so rude to each, bad attitude, talking over each other, not very attentive to walk-ins. If I was an undercover boss, folks would be F🔥ired representing my brand. Not very welcoming. I felt so embarrassed for the owner. He needs fresh faces that smile and enjoy their jobs. I bet the owner loses a lot of money, just on service. They are near JFK airport, a bunch of hotels and shelters, so they have potential. I have a huge customer base, but i will hold off on recommendations. I remember when The Door first started the same issue, but I knew owner Chris, we went to school together. Immediately, he retrained the staff because I had HUGE following (local politicians/fraternity members/radio promotions) that could impact his growth. Now look at growth; Annual Jerk Festivals/Reggae in the Park/Smoke-House/restaurant expansion from walk-ins only to Seated/bar & walk-ins. Amazing 👏. I wish 🤞 things get better here also. 🙏 Lord fix dis. Send them good energy...

I had searched because i wanted some jamaican food after 3 hours the food was found because this.peppas is.opened late. HOWEVER the hospitality was bleak its like hurry up Order no humbleness just an smirk to say the least and they wanted tips..lol ive been to Jamaica WI many times and they are humble because of the poverty not all but Most are poor and tourism is necessary. Anyway I ordered expensive oxtails rice peas Cabbage and plantains they forgot my cabbage..i made a organic salad it didnt replace the cabbage but the oxtails were like my mom ised to make i enjoyed them but the plaintains were like fat thumbs not mashed i hated them. Oh yeah i had escovith fish it was onions no vinegar onion Sauce...very dry the patties were very good and the festival was alright a little dry. But i have my own onions i keep at home...it was Good. All i can say is if your of person of God for goodness sake SMILE.
