I placed a phone order today, a simple sandwich and fries. They first said 15 minutes and then 10. I arrive 15 minutes and it looked as if he was cooking my order. The girl behind the counter asked how many sides of salad dressing I would want and showed me a small little container and said they would be $1 each. I declined the side dressing. When she rang my $9.25 sandwich up, she said it would be $10.25. I reminded her that I did not get a side dressing and she said that was tax. Mmmmmhhhh. Last I checked, tax on food in NYC is 8.75%. I asked about it and she feigned ignorance and said it was the computer that figured it out, not her. I asked her to check it again and for a printed out receipt and she gave me a hand written receipt with the $1 tax. I again asked for a print out from her computer that figured out this tax and she said she could not since it was her first day working there. I asked to speak with the manager and she said he was not there and did not know his name since, again, it was her first day. I asked the other girl, who all of a sudden did not speak English, who the manager is and she said Max and he was not in. They really need to realize that just because I have redhair and freckles, that there may be a slight chance that I also speak Spanish. So silly. I will not be returning due to their unethical practices. Either this “new” employee was pocketing the cash or they all round up on the tax on everyone’s meals so they can make a bit more profit. And funny that once she saw I was paying cash, the computer system could not print out a receipt and she had to hand write it. And also, the sandwich was mediocre at best. Get your act together, could be a cute neighborhood spot, but they lost my business as well as...
Read moreI stopped in between 8 and 9am yesterday to grab breakfast before work. I ordered a cheese omelette with fries and sausage. My order was ready in a few minutes and so I paid, signed the receipt and went along to work across the street. I sat and proceeded to put salt, pepper and ketchup on the fries and then used the fork to taste a corner of the omelette. I then proceeded to use the fork to move the fries around to get evenly coated with ketchup and to my horror there was a dead roach that I actually thought was the end of a french fry had I not taken a second look. I immediately ran back and asked the girl at the counter to tell me what that was and she goes “oh my God I’m so sorry you want your money back?” You’re damn right I wanted my money back and there were about 4 people eating and as much as I was tempted to make a big scene, I got my money and went off to work. I will contact the department of health because I work in food service and that is not acceptable period!!! I will definitely be contacting DOH. If there is a dead roach I the food, that means there is an infestation and that means...
Read moreOver all a bad experience. Coffee was served to me quickly. Waitress was not fluent in English as I had couple instructions on ingredients and questions, so they were going back and forth but respected me. Although the service was slow then and the staff started sitting in tables eating on middle of a rush then running food at same time, gross. I was told salad comes with Feta, It didn't come I had to ask again and for another thing. Main course arrived and was brough to me without the side. The food was not tasty I ordered Steak and the mixed veggies were cold untasty. Coffee was poured whenever asked, and thats the only thing I liked aside the salad simple salad who ofc they didn't "cook" it. Staff was walking through the floor with a hand truck carrying stuff while people are eating.... At end I asked for a check and I waited for so long.. Other people were waiting and started feeling the same and eye contacts were made. Get a new chef and train your staff properly and follow at least some regulations and expectations a dinner should have. Not...
