Peter's Crunchy Red Tacos — Restaurant in New York

Birria Tacos & Consommé was smelly ! I was SO excited to eat this for lunch ! The Birria Tacos only looked good ! The smell was HORENDOUS & tasteless ! The meat was full of fat ! & the consommé and meat smelled like pus honestly! Idk if it’s gone bad ! But PLEASE if you’re in the food industry, food poisoning is real ! Please taste your food before selling & if the meat wasn’t stored properly and it’s starting to smell, don’t sell it to customers ! There was barely any seasoning that could cover up the taste and smell ! I’ve lost my appetite & only had one bite of the Birria tacos & one spoonful of the consommé! I’ve had Birria tacos before but these ones were not fresh ! I’m still hungry and feel like I’ve wasted my $ + I’m praying I don’t get food poisoning !! It’s Extremely...

After hearing rave reviews of these supposedly legendary crunchy tacos, I was sorely disappointed. The meat was mostly flavorless, and really could have used some sort of hot sauce or salsa to top them off with. The broth-like soup/dipping sauce was fantastic, but moreso on its own than as a complement for dipping the tacos in.

It's a decent amount of food for the price, though I think much of the appeal in these comes from the fact that they're open late after the bars close, and serve as comfort food for the drunken hordes when most other places are closed. I've simply had much better tacos from other food trucks in comparison, though I suppose it's still not a bad option if it's late and you're drunk...

These were actually the worst nachos I’ve ever had, and having grown up in Texas, I’ve noshed upon numerous nachos in my day (including no shortage of good ones in nyc). Imagine going to a midwestern bowling alley or baseball game in 1995, complete with the cheapest carnival-style chips, artificial nacho cheese from the can, and unspectacular one-dimensional meat — nothing else. No consommé was included or even salsa and it was $12 —which even in New York is straight up insulting. I could have sat down at a decent bar and had something 10x better for that price. In eight years of eating out almost every day in nyc, this will go down as one of the worst...
