We were shocked and disappointed to experience this service in the restaurant located in NYC. We were taken to the seat where the scenery of the Central Park can't be seen, though a lot of seats were available at this time. Only Asian people including us were around there. We requested to the staff and moved to another seat where the scenery can be seen. However, the bad service didn't stop. Although we didn't order sparkling water and any special water, the staff brought us a bottled water without gas. On the other hands, most of the customers were drinking the regular water, but any bottles weren't on the tables and the staffs were pouring the water to all customers. When the bill was brought, the 8 dollars for the bottled water was charged. Although we talked to the staff and the charge was taken out, the bad service to us still continued. When we paid by cash, we told him to bring us the change. However, before bringing to us, he got some of the change. His action means the tip from us was taken by himself, but we couldn't understand why he did so. After that, we didn't tell him about anything, because we didn't want to talk with...
Read moreIn 2017 for afternoon tea it was actually pretty good. My daughter and I enjoyed it. We each got a pot with truly hot water for our tea. Finger sandwiches were a mixed bag but generally good. We had to ask for 2 more mini-scones because we only got one apiece, yet they were the best thing on the tray. Very attractive view out the big windows toward Central Park and Cleopatra's Needle. There are better places for tea in NYC, but you can't beat the setting. Edit 2024- No more tea service and food has deteriorated badly as well as overall experience. Now it is just walk up service for lunch. Order a counter for pre-made food. Salad nicoise had tuna badly overcooked and very hard. Mediocre food. Fast service and still an excellent view. Don't know if they will ramp it up for holiday season but at this rate...
Read moreReally not good and expensive! Cobb salad was plain regular lettuce with tough chicken (some chunks were inedible) with tiny wet bacon bits, 5 cardboard tasting grape tomatoes in a plastic container and u grab your own plastic cutlery to eat it with and I took it all to a dirty table on plastic tray. Whoever prepared the watery Lentil soup didn’t bother or maybe didn’t know to soak the beans so I had hours of painful gastric distress throughout my museum visit. Just that and a bottle of cold tea for $40+. The Met should go out in front of the museum to one of the food trucks for tips on tasty quick serve items or have a bite at any of the MOMA cafe’s to better understand what to do for good eats at a more...
