I was looking for good Neopolitan pizza and a friend recommended this spot
From naples to Park Slope, Rosario Granieri the owner , has a great personality, and is bringing authentic flavors of naples to his pizza.
Its a cool spot that serves great Italian food. Don't skip on their eggplant parm.
With ingredients from Italy, the pizza dough fermented upto 48 hours with a hydration of 60 to 75% and an oven that gets up to 900 degrees! You get great tasting pizza!
We had the vesuvio and the queen, the margharetia
The Vesuvio is a double dough packed with ricotta, sausage, mushrooms and mozzarella. Topped with san marzano tomato sauce and basil. This baby is big and is no joke. Like the name its a Volcano of flavors. (Vesuvio is a volcano).
The creaminess of the fresh ricotta along with meaty sausage and mushrooms gives it good layering. Its also a heavy pizza and quiet filling.
The Margherita is great. A classic! keeping it simple and the quality of the ingredients shine through. Perfectly made with san marzano tomatoes, fresh mozzarella , basil and parmesan with a nice crust.
The Tela Mista was a nice appetizer.
The eggplant parm is a winner..one if the best I hae had.
The gelato is really good as well.and gotta love the gelato cart in front.
The service was very good. Colleen was our server and she was very nice and helped us selecting dishes.
Had couple of glasses or Barbara wine as well.
They have outdoor seating and the their windows open up to he street to give a nice vibe to the spot.
Definitely want to come back and have the...
Read moreWe sat for 45 minutes with a guy at the table next to us blowing vape smoke directly in our face. I have never seen someone vape so much in such a short period of time. I got up after we were done eating and asked an employee to speak to a manager. After finding the manager I was unimpressed with his response, I asked “ do you allow people to vape in your outdoor seating section?“ He said “nowadays, we let them because we don’t want bad reviews.“ Well, guess what you are getting a bad review. We were just getting done with the Brooklyn pride parade, and the manager seemed to be more interested in what I thought about what he was wearing than fixing the problem. He, as well as an employee, asked me what I thought about his pants. I played along and said they were working for him. Then, they gave me and my husband, a free dessert, and two 1/2 shots of lemon cello, thinking this would make up for our dinner. It did not. We left the restaurant with a worse taste in our mouth than what we originally had. This is not somewhere that we would go back to just based on management’s response to the situation. Hopefully, they will learn from this, but I am not...
Read moreHonestly, the food was very good, but they tried cheating us on the bill, adding a 3% credit card surcharge TWICE. I don’t love a cc surcharge, but if it’s disclosed, that’s totally fair. However, to charge it twice and insist it wasn’t charged twice is very different. It’s quite shady…
Initially when confronted about it, the waitstaff insisted that it was only added once, but once I added up the numbers for them, they agreed it was there twice. The waitress said she couldn’t give a refund without the manager, who was not there or present on the phone. To her credit, she offered to pay back the over-charge with cash, and she was apologetic, blaming the “system”, saying they have no control over it.
If you ever go, please read your bill carefully. Who knows how many people have been silently conned out of an extra few percent. Perhaps this was an honest mistake, I would like to believe so. But also, I’ve never been to a restaurant in my life where they have “accidentally” added a second surcharge. You can forgive me for being a bit skeptical.
And even so, I wish the staff were faster to admit it, instead of initially insisting there was no...
