EXCELLENT! I loved my experience (40 mins). I went on a 90 degree day, because I thought it would help me to cope with the heat - and it did! Also, I am very active in the heat, and - TMI alert - I tend to get bloated as a result (which is awful but there it is). I felt so refreshed afterwards and I know that I was able to release some of the bloat I have been toting around. So, if you are bloated, or just feeling a bit sluggish, try this place! --- The staff is exceptional, and they will take time to explain everything to you. --- When you get in your cabin, you will be able to pick a program. I did a 37 minute Detoxification program. I have a background in breathwork, so here is a tip - do a breathing exercise that works for you, and it will help you to sweat. --- Since this is Full Spectrum Infrared, I was not overheating and exhausted - not at all. I was comfortable with the detoxification program heat levels (starts at 140 degrees). Next time I will try the weight loss program, also 37 minutes. I want to try all the programs. You just select your program on the tablet in the cabin - the program just sets the temperature and the fluctuations, that is all I mean by "program." You will also have options to listen to lovely spa style music, and there are guided meditations too, if you want to choose that. There is also Netflix for those of you want to catch up on a show :0) I can't wait to go back! Here is a pro tip - spend $6 on the Chlorophyll water that they sell, and drink it 30 to 60 minutes beforehand. I bought a bottle when I booked my session (2 days in advance in my case) so it worked out. If you book online, I recommend getting there 30 mins early so you can drink the Chlorophyll Water. I think they open at 10am, so you would need to book around 10:30am. Thank you so much for your wonderful Full Spectrum Infrared Sauna! See you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had a highly disappointing (and very aggressive) experience last week at this establishment.
The first sauna and cold plunge room facing 5th Ave had electrical issues, causing the fuse to blow out THREE times during my session.
The front desk attendant handled the first occurrence well, being helpful and apologetic. However, the owner's response during the next two instances was absolutely lacking any basic understanding; she was incredibly rude, pushy and childish. Plus, she failed to apologize until checkout, and it was not sincere. Then she proceeded to aggressively upsell me during checkout. Come on.
Despite the recurrent issues, the owner insisted, saying, "It's fine," over and over and refused my request to cut the session short. Each time the fuse blew, it took 5 minutes to fix, disrupting the experience again and again and well⦠again. Additionally, the owner made a tense phone call IN the sauna room to an electrician, further diminishing the relaxation. And that phone call was not conducted in a tone you want to be around.
At checkout, she had the audacity to charge the full amount, and the owner repeatedly questioned us about drinks from the fridge (trying to charge us for every penny), and was pushing packages and memberships aggressively. The overall experience was chaotic, disrupted, inadequate and riddled with a phone call, and constant interruptions, making it far from the relaxing and intimate atmosphere one would expect.
It's surprising that any business owner would find this behavior acceptable; it was truly embarrassing for her- and a waste of time and money for me....

First experience was dubious so I called the business afterwards to communicate my concerns directly, then ultimately decided to give them a second chance. What a terrible mistake.
Once again I was suggested to add a cold plunge to my sauna session before my massage. Last time there was sediment at the bottom of the tub so I didnāt dare submerge. I told the owner about this on the call and they proceeded to ask me if I was sure? of what I saw - then talked over me repeatedly until I steered the conversation back on track. This time around there were fuzzy brown particles bubbling into the cold plunge tub (different tub, different room) and the owner spent several minutes babbling about the issue and insisting I use the cold plunge tub (I didnāt).
Would have been bearable save for the two awful massages where the therapist berated my body, talked at length about personal issues, and multiple times touched me in an area of my back I said was sensitive and to avoid - then laughed about it.
If youāre into public bathtubs with dirty water, awful and unprofessional scheduling, a discriminatory masseuse and questionnable hygiene protocols, go here. Also because the owner insisted on filling the tub with a hose, I waited 30 minutes for a service I didnāt want and then was criticized for not using. Masseuse was jittery, brusque and ended the massage portion after 50mins (paid for 60min massage). More commentary on my body, which made me tense the whole time. 1 star instead of 0 because the infrared sauna was great. However not worth the otherwise...
