JFK Airport Food Crawl - Eating at the airport can be a bit of a nightmare, so we went on food crawl at JFK’s Terminal 4 to find out what’s good! I recently had the chance to dine at Pizza Vino with my mom while waiting for our flight at JFK International Airport. Overall, it was a decent experience that balanced convenience with quality. We ordered a sausage and spinach pizza, which was very tasty, and enjoyed two margaritas at the bar. The pizza had a crispy crust and a generous amount of toppings. If I were just rating the pizza by itself, I would give it a five. The ambiance was typical of an airport setting, a bit noisy and bustling, but Pizza Vino managed to carve out a cozy nook amidst the chaos. The staff were friendly and efficient, with Dovina, in particular, providing excellent service. She was attentive and made sure our order was out quickly despite the busy environment. The total came up to $81.20 for the pizza and two margaritas, including a tip. It’s a little expensive for pizza, but I really enjoyed it. By the time we finished our margaritas, we felt really nice, especially considering we were a bit stressed at the airport. While it wasn’t the best overall dining experience I’ve ever had, it certainly hit the spot for a quick bite before our flight. If you’re at JFK and craving some pizza and a margarita, Pizza Vino is a solid choice. Rating: 3.5 stars

I had a voucher to use at this location, the woman that worked there (who was clearly busy) and said she had a bunch of orders—which I understand. But because this restaurant operates on mostly screen orders, she said she wouldn't be able to get to me for another 20 minutes. So I'm supposed to stand there while others were putting more orders in on the screen and she would get to me eventually. The 20 minutes wasn't the problem, it was her sour delivery and inability to make any eye contact that was off-putting. Having many years in the service industry myself, I could tell the flow of the workers there was mediocre and slow. So it's not a surprise why putting an order in would take long. Horrible customer service probably from a lack of management and workers. It's clear the workers there are miserable and barely want to look at the customers they serve.

ALL OF THE OTHER REVIEWS ARE RIGHT!!! Despite all the other mediocre reviews, I decided to try this place anyway because I really wanted some pizza, and choices are limited in Terminal 4 due to COVID-19.

Well, it turns out the other reviews were pretty much right on.

Several people commented on how the customer service wasn't very good. Usually I blame this on one employee having an off day or the reviewer themselves being rude. In my experience here though, most of the people working there actually weren't very nice. There is a big sign out front saying you can order online to "skip the line," but then there is no other information about what to do next. And if you wait in line to ask, they get annoyed with you. As I waited more closely to the counter as they prepared my food, I could hear at least 2 of the employees saying unpleasant things about several other customers. I'm sure dealing with airport customers all day can be unpleasant, but that feels a bit unprofessional.

As for the food itself: meh. The menu is small, and the best value seems to be the combo, two cheese slices and a drink for $10. The pizza is pre-made and then reheated in the oven when you order. Reheating it gives it that distinct day-old pizza taste with overly crisp crust and twice-melted cheese. It was also unexpectedly greasy for being just cheese. The slices are good size, so you probably won't go hungry. They serve them on a paper plate with another paper plate on top to keep it warm. That does keep some of the heat in, but all the cheese sticks to the top plate when you take it off, so that ruins the pizza before you even get to take a bite. There were about 6-7 people in line in front of me, and it was about 15-20 minutes to from when I got in line to when my food was ready.

I wanted this place to be good, but it just didn't work out. Next time I'm passing though JFK, I think I'll eat...

I have ran restaurants for the last 20 years and this was my worse restaurant experience ever. I arrived at vino at 243 pm and noticed they had a way to pay online to avoid the line and be safer from covid so I chose that option. It said to wait to the left of the line and wait for my name to be called. Well after 25 minutes of waiting on two slices I asked if they received my order which she said no I showed her the two recipes I had and that the money had been taken out of my bank account she said there was nothing I she could do then turned my back on me and would not acknowledge I was even there. I then went to the bar and the bar tender said I had to go wait in line so after another 20 min waiting in line I was told they had no order. I finally waited another ten min to speak to a manager and she said she could not refund the ticket because the ticket had been closed. So I then explained to her I was very familiar to her computer program and knew that it could be reopened she then asked if I would like to go back and show her then I said I would be glad to show her she then said she could not allow me to do that. She then after 10 min of arguing she finally agreed to give me a refund. To which she failed to do correct. I found out ten min later that that charge never got credited back to me. I called bank and confirmed there were no pending refunds but still a charge from them ony account. I went back and was told she was not there and was at another restaurant in the airport and that I should just go walk around the airport to find her. After a hour in a half I finally found a manager that could give me a refund and was very nice. I am also including pictures of the employees that turned there back on me, ignored me, and did nothing to help the situation and was nothing but rude. You see them run they will steel your money. You have...

In September - I visited a bar in JFK. Upon asking to pay, we were presented with a card machine displaying an extortionate amount. We asked to see the receipt before payment was made. Was ignored. Asked again, still ignored. Finally, we said 'We're not paying until we see the bill.' Finally the bill came and the barman had added a 95% tip onto the bill. We refused to pay that and words were exchanged 'This is how it works in America' etc. After leaving a scathing review of that particular bar, we vowed to never visit again.

Cut to February last week, visting NYC again and in JFK. We decided to visit a different bar - 'Pizza Vino'. After ordering 3 glasses of wine, we noticed half way through that it was the same barman from September, now at a different establishment. We awaited our bill and expected a confrontation - it wasn't great, the tip was added twice. Whatever, was too tired to start anything so paid and left.

Cut to today, now back in London and the transaction has gone through twice. We've paid $200 for 3 glasses of (awful) wine.

I fancied looking at the reviews of this place and have seen it happen to other people.

The barman is a SCAMMER. I'm sure of it. I'm going to try my best to report him and get the authorities...
