Very small (just three tables), very local (puerto-rican) and very affordable place. At least, the best cubano sandwich for $6 in the city. Huge, loaded with meat and one sandwich just enough to feed 2 people. Also, chicken noodles soup is very good - thick, delicious and extremely flavorful. Lines are expected and you might have wait a little from the time to give order to pay and receive the food. Also, little knowledge of Spanish is helpful. Cards is $10 min and the place is closed for business at Sundays.

Few places so small and so hidden offer food of such a great quality and flavor like this Polanco BBQ Restaurant. The rotisserie chicken is one of the best in terms of Latin style and they are generous with the side dishes, all typical predominantly Caribbean cuisine. The place fills up quickly and people line up to get in. There are no chairs or tables, they only serve takeout. Very economical considering that it is not fast food. Rather, it has a homey and familiar touch.

This restaurant is disgusting as many people go here for lunch and dinner and stuff. They have the nerd that have roaches inside of their food. Totally turned me off. I will never go here again and spend a dime. This place should be closed.

READ THIS- realistic assessment. I moved to this neighborhood two years ago, so I am not just saying this because this is all I know. I'm a foodie and even though I have only ever left a couple reviews I finally did it for these guys tonight. They are literally steps fromy door and I have eaten here about once a week for 2 years. To the people reviewing it's loud, and they are rude etc. let me tell you, EVERY SINGLE DAY THIS PLACE IS FULL, ALL HOURS. The food is delicious, cheap and FAST. I come here once a week for two years, they ARENT NICE. I CANT BLAME THEM! they are a small business with the same employees working day in and out, lines out the door. Get your amazing food, pay, and leave. Have you ever seen the soup episode in Seinfeld. I only go once a week, but about 5 time each week I look through the door, to see if it's packed. Usually it is so I move on cuz I ate crowds. (When I say packed I mean it because there is not seating, it's just an order counter and pay counter inside.). I indulge once a week when I'm lucky enough to see a line 2 deep or less. Here is my problem. My first time in there, rookie, I wanted to try a burrito. But they are so busy and it's they have a lot of food in hot pans to make plates. But the burrito they grill the raw chicken right in front of you, and I couldn't help but feel like I hold up lines. I will tell you though, when that thing comes through, hot, fresh and mounded high with chicken for 7 bucks! I was floored. Cheaper than a garbage taco bell burrito for 8.69 half the size and less than half as good. I was hooked. But today, I grabbed one of their rotisserie chickens from the oven in the window. I am not telling y'all any lies. Best. I . Have. Ever . Had. Now I love fired chicken, breading is great yada yada. But never had a roast chicken this good. Only one pointer, they default give you a garlic sauce, either it doesn't need it or ask for something you spicy if you like a little kick, cuz this sauce is pointless. So no, you can't sit down and eat. Not it's not quiet, no they don't have time to be friendly. If you want TASTE for VALUE then you...

I love this family owned business! Their food is delicious, with their main offering rotisserie chicken, white or yellow rice with black or kidney beans. There are other food choices such as pork chops, stewed chicken, pasta, ox tails depending on the menu of the day. In addition, they have many salads and dishes made to order. The portions are always generous. The staff take the time to get to know their customers even though it is usually quite busy. Last week when I was ordering lunch for my daughter, I forgot exactly what she wanted. I didn’t have to call her because the owner knew her order right down to the salad dressing. In these times, where everything seems so impersonal, it is good to know a place like this still exists. Yes, the lines can be long, the place is small and could use a facelift but I don’t know anyplace else where I can get a satisfying meal for around $10 that feeds two people. I definitely...

The customer service there is horrible. I was in the line waiting for someone to take my order. The lady with the bubble lip that suck on her bottom lip all day was making smoothies. On line there was a Spanish lady myself Black and a Mexican women behind me. She offered the left over smoothies to the Spanish and the Mexican lady and not the Black. This is unprofessional business bubble lip she is so rude to the black customers she treat Blacks like she doesn't see them and talk over. Please fix your face and learn how to treat your black customers who are one mostly purchasing your food. Polanco need to find another worker she is going to kill your business with the disrespect. I hope their boss read these reviews related to blacks something...
