Tried it out for the first time after hearing so many great reviews about the food from neighbors and friends. All I could say is wow, no wonder the place is always crowded. My son ordered the pasta with seafood, and they sent out the wrong plate. It had seafood, just not everything that was on his original order. We didnt even notice. About half way through the meal,(my son was ripping through it) the owner comes out with his original order, apologizes, and places it on our table. He told us to all pick, or bring it home. There was so many large chunks of seafood on there, you couldnt even tell there was pasta underneath. Basically the most delicious scallops, shrimp, clams and mussels Ive ever had, and I eat at numerous restaurants around Manhattan entertaining surgeon clients. Really, since my son was already half way through his original dish, the owner didnt have to do that - but he did. He was so incredibly gracious about it, and even apologetic. As for prices, it cost a few bucks less then our semi regular trip to Applebeas - which compared to this place, has garbage for food. My daughter and I had Panini's which were light years ahead of diners in the neighborhood.. She also raved over the French onion soup. My wife had this incredible salad. Again, all I could say is wow. Great food, nice looking restaurant, and an incredibly gracious owner. He's the type of guy who could invite over to your house for dinner and feel perfectly comfortable. As for the wait time - nothing out of the ordinary. you could tell the food is cooked fresh, which takes longer than pre prepared frozen food. I saw a previous poster whining about the wait. Want fast food that comes out in minutes? Go to a chain restaurant. Doesnt take long to open a box or bag and throw it in...
Read moreStandards have certainly dropped since they moved over from Annandale Diner to Terrace. The first time we went there it took a very long time to get our food and it was obvious the staff and the kitchen were stretched thin. We figured it was just because it just opened. The food portions were smaller as well and they skimped on things like pickles and extra sauces that they used to give out.
We went there for a second time a month later and we still had the same experience. It wasn't the waitresses fault. She had a ton of different tables to attend to and took awhile to get around.
When it was Annandale Diner there always was someone to fill my coffee when it was empty. This time I was lucky we didn't finish our meal before it was filled again.
In my opinion, they need to hire more staff so that their customers can feel like it was when is was a smaller sized diner. The seating on one side of the diner is really bad compared to the opposite side which feels more like the diner of old. It makes me sad that my favorite place to eat in Staten Island has changed for the worse.
I will come back in a year and hope they changed for the...
Read moreService, food, and atmosphere are always amazing. Highly recommend Eggs Benedict for breakfast, the Annadale Terrace Salad and Criti Wraps for dining in at lunch or dinner. And the steak fajita appetizer is also amazing - but for me is more like a meal! Portions are generous.
Had my engagement party in the terrace room in October 2015 and they did an amazing job. Beautiful buffet spread, they were able to supply cloth napkins to match the color of my theme, set up the room to fit 75 perfectly and comfortably. And the outdoor terrace area was a huge hit for everyone as they never really left the party whilst...
