Rainbow Deli & Grocery — Restaurant in New York

The owners treat everyone with kindness. They make classic sandwiches to order, but also have some surprise menu additions posted by the counter. The convenience section is great - it has the perfect bodega hodgepodge of everything you might want. They also have a selection of imported snacks facing the far wall from the door. They have high quality eggs and milk. The one thing I would change is the beer selection. I'd like to see less random lager brands and more specialty ales. They have Bell's two hearted, so ordering some Bell's seasonals would be an instant improvement to the selection. Simple love is a special place. They're my go to sandwich stop, and I hope they become...

They've changed hands and now I fear that the Simple Love will go out of it. I loved the Chinese couple who ran this store and the new management doesn't strike me as too loving. They've been renovating the place and I also fear rising prices. I suspect they'll turn it into something like The Greenpoint Gourmet Deli. Gourmet means greedy in my experience.

Update: All their beers have NO prices posted. They charge often more than other stores in the area. Also, customers must be very clear as to how they wish their sandwiches to be prepared. Otherwise these fools will do...

My block deli!! Where would I be without you guys?!? Simple Love is the perfect name for this place cause that’s all I feel every time I’m there. It’s a couple blocks for me to reach the supermarket so on a day where I’m running low on milk,egg, etc.. I can run down to the corner and get what I need. I love this place a lot more since new management. My first day there, they asked me questions about what I like to shop for and presented me with some of those items days later. Sandwiches...
