I recently dined at Thai Tree in Long Island City, and I must say, it’s a hidden gem for anyone craving authentic Thai cuisine. The atmosphere is cozy, with a warm ambiance that makes it perfect for both casual and intimate dining.
To start, I had the Tom Yum soup, which immediately impressed with its perfect balance of bold, tangy, and aromatic flavors. The broth was rich and flavorful, with just the right amount of heat, and the lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, and galangal really shone through. The freshness of the ingredients stood out, with plump shrimp adding a lovely texture to each spoonful. It’s the kind of soup that warms you from the inside out and makes you crave more.
For the main course, I tried the Shrimp Pad Thai, and it was nothing short of delicious. The noodles were perfectly cooked, tender yet slightly chewy, and the dish had a beautiful balance of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy. The shrimp were large, juicy, and cooked to perfection, while the combination of peanuts, bean sprouts, and lime provided the perfect crunch and zest to complement the dish. The overall flavor profile felt incredibly authentic, and it was clear that only the freshest ingredients were used.
In both dishes, the authenticity of the flavors was undeniable. Thai Tree’s commitment to fresh, quality ingredients and traditional techniques really shines through. Whether you’re a seasoned Thai food enthusiast or a newcomer to the cuisine, I highly recommend Thai Tree for its excellent flavors and warm...
Read moreI got the Thai iced tea, the spice dusted calamari, the Thai basil fried rice with the crispy duck. The Thai tea was perfectly balanced not overly sweet and a lovely addition to the meal. The Spice Dusted Calamari had a very light breading that was seasoned well and skillfully fried. The sweet chili sauce and squeeze of fresh lime over the calamari made the dish sing!!
The Thai Basil fried rice was delightfully smoky and full of flavor. The crispy duck was the star of the meal. Duck is my favorite protein and I’ve had it often. After much thought and comparison, I am ready to call it the best duck I’ve had. It was so moist and the skin was so crispy it shattered. The flawless excision of that duck was the perfect end to my NYC trip. I can’t wait to return here for another duck meal!
Finally, The delightful waitress is a skilled multitasker. She simultaneously took of everyone in the restaurant with care and attention, handled all those coming in for takeout all while making the above mentioned drinks...
Read moreThe atmosphere is great, we loved their chandelier. The young lady that we had serving us was great, awesome customer service. Food is very good and I do believe they have very attractive prices in their menu. We spent a little over $100 between my wife and I and we ordered 2 appetizers, to entree dishes plus 2 desserts including tip. The only reason I don't give them a 5-star review is because we believe they can improve the experience using their speakers for some ambient music, we instead had music coming from a phone speaker (we believe that's what the girl was listening too before we got there) and the place felt a little warm and humid (yeah, it is spring season with temperatures in the 80s °F). We asked her to lower the temp a little so it could get a little more fresh and she did. Either way, we're definitely going back sometime soon. I will sincerely give the place a 4.5/5 rating if it was possible. I hope...
