If you are a manager or an owner and you care.. please do me a favor and read til the end. Thank you in advance. Everything was better than expected except for the service from this single employee. I’ve been working at restaurants for a decade. It’s saddening that a single person could ruin everyone else’s hard work. I got his name as Nick, or Nico. Dined in 7/28 Sunday night around 9pm. There was a couple sat next to us who felt uncomfortable / unwelcomed by Nick/Nico and we had a lil talk amongst ourselves and be a good sport about it. Apparently no supervisor was present so I could not speak to anyone else. Nick/Nico a male who seemed to be around age of 40 was the person in charge ( he also said he is a waiter) Walked in, no host, no one greeted us at the front, so we walked into the restaurant. No problem. An employee with vest and white button up greeted us. All 3 employees wearig a vest and white button ups were extremely professional and exceptionally attentive and kind. Nico/nick just did not seem to be happy to be there. He was staring at us from the register with his arms crossed while the employee asked if we needed sparkling water or iced water. He went away and Nick came with looking not interested and unbothered and asked if we needed water. I told him someone else helped us. He looked at me and walked away without saying a word. He did not explain specials. He never responded when I ordered drinks / food. Just looked at me and walked away. It was to celebrate birthday of my companion so I was trying to be a good sport, understanding how he might be tired / having a bad day, because stuff happens. The entire time we were there, Nick/Nico never stopped by our table, instead, he was standing by the register with his arms crossed, leaning against counter or wall. Staring at guests like he was disgusted by them. Check your cameras. I am not making this up. I tried to keep my calm and finished up and leave. Nico / nick brings me a check with an extra drink (Penicillin? Cocktail?. I asked him what this was. He did not look at me. He looked elsewhere and mumbled his words. It was definitely not sorry or anything. Then he says something like I got it and SNATCHED my card away from my hand. I was so dumbfounded. I was sitting for at least 5 minutes. He did not return. I decided to seek a supervisor to address this issue. He claims he is waiter but he is like manager. No supervisor present. He just seemed annoyed and asked me what the problem was. There was no point of me explaining to the person that does not give a crap about how guests feel. I tried to explain but he tried using broken english and acted like nothing was wrong. I told him he made a mistake and did not apologize. He said okay sorry, no problem now? I gave up and said nevermind, dont worry about it. He said Oh I’m not worried about it! so on and so forth.. he said u dont like service? Dont leave tip! no problem! If a manager or an owner is reading this.. is this really how you want your restaurant to be represented? As I have previously mentioned, everything else including food, atmosphere and all other employees were great. It’s not about $50,$100 tip. It’s about ruining a night, a trip, and memories of your guests. If you want to give someone a title and authority, you need to see if they qualify to represent your facility. If I were in a local pizzeria in Italy or a local taqueria in Mexico, I’ll enjoy the food and ignore poor customer service. However, I went to a restaurant inside of a hotel in NYC.. not my first time feeling discriminated or dining in at a rather fancy restaurant. You do not have to do anything for me. Just keep an eye out for Nico/Nick. He will make trouble with wrong people one day.

Read moreWent down to NYC from Maine for a much needed girls trip and to see Robert Downey Jr's play McNeal. My girlfriend wanted a nice Italian place. With so many choices in the city it is so hard what to choose. Found this one on Google and seemed to have really great reviews and thought we would give it a try . Got a reservation on Sunday night being New York we were worried being New York we needed one. ( It ended up being pretty empty and no need for a reservation)Had a little trouble finding the place it's nestled next to and right in Hyatt Centro midtown. When we called to get some help from the hostess she seemed clueless wasn't much help at all. when we said we were near Hyatt on the street between Madison and 39 West which we thought was funny. When you walk in it's a beautiful building the ambiance is very nice. Music is soft jazz but it's classic and modern in jazz which we had fun with. Small quaint but a pretty space. Definitely would be great for people who hate the crowds and a nice intimate date night. The bathroom you have to use in the hotel downstairs and is a weird set up with shared wash space and coed small stalls which weren't that clean for what kind of place it is. I didn't care for that at all. No privacy to freshen up being a lady. Saying all that, the ambiance in the dining room is very beautiful. Our waiters were very attentive and doting and accommodating and even handsome and entertaining. Lol we got the tableside caesar which was very delicious with the fresh caesar. Im not too crazy for alot of dressing on my salad so it is fully drenched in it. My girlfriend loved it the just the way they made it. they were very accommodating and even brought me extra plain romaine so it wasnt overpowering for me and was perfect. If you don't like alot of dressing like me def have them but it on side or ask for very light. Overall would def recommend the tableside caesar salad. Priced at $36. We also got the mezzani app which was the eggplant layered with mozzarella cheese baked. It was delicious but very small to share for 2 ppl. Priced at $20 My girlfriend ordered the Dover sole tableside which was very delicious. The sauce is to die for. Which is market price and was $75. It is a whole fish. She enjoyed that very much. It doesn't come with anything at all, no sides I would have like to see it come on a small bed of homemade pasta and a little sauted spinach but that's me. I ordered the bolognese. Presentation was good. I was told it was homemade parpadelle with a veal ragout. Very plain tasting and it wasn't nothing special. I was looking for melt in your mouth special experience. I would of liked to see chunks of veal in the sauce maybe a slice of fresh mozzarella on top for a $30 price tag. My waiter were very accommodating and took it back for me. We only had one drink a piece . We were so tired from our trip I didn't end up getting anything else. And then my girlfriend ordered the lemon sorbetto which was plenty for two for $16. They even surprised us with 2 small glass of champagne to compliment it . Price tag was $203 total with about 14 dollars in NYC meal tax. Overall good experience. We had a nice time there. We had a great time in NYC. Food was tasty what...
Read moreI never write reviews but this place really isn’t worth spending your money!!! Me and my bf went in for valentine’s days we got seated at 9:15 didn’t get our order in after 20 min of seating which now makes it 9: 35 and I ordered a Burrata with prosciutto as starters which means it doesn’t require any cooking! All it takes is plating cheese and meat on a plate… which I waited 30 min for. While I was waiting for the Burrta this couple arrived at the restaurant got their food order in and was eating before us which mind you I was still waiting for a burrata. I understand it was Valentine’s Day and the place was busy but it does not justify taking 30+ min for cheese and meat, while the service experience was terrible!!!! The person that was serving us was a manger, which is the worst part . He never apologized/ communicated to us about how long or backed up the kitchen was. He didn’t even acknowledged us, I had to be on the look out for him to get another drink. Now for the main entree I ordered a pasta and while he servers us our food he offers us pepper and cheese I said yes, well I never got pepper and cheese for my pasta. Just to top it all off we asked for our bill and our form of payment was Apple Pay. Unfortunately the computer was not reading both of our phones to complete the payment, so heads up the Apple Pay doesn’t work !! The payment kept saying decline and instead of being politie or having any customer service he said “ no money” . I’m sorry what? Who says that ? We ended up having to take out our physical card to pay. Maybe we only had a bad experience because we look like young adults and maybe he thought we couldn’t afford to dine there? I just wouldn’t recommend...
