We started with the Som Tum Tod( Crispy Green Papaya Salad)âlight, tangy, and full of texture, it was the perfect balance of spice, sourness, and sweetness, with a satisfying crunch from the peanuts and fried shredded papaya. For the main course, the Nuer Yang (Strip Steak served medium rare) stood outânot your typical version, but a superbly refined one with perfectly size of salad on the side together with sticky rice that was both juicy tender sweet and savory. The Moo Pirod ( spare ribs pork with chili paste sauce) rich and aromatic, arrived with tender pieces of pork ribs braised to perfection in a savory chili sauce, with just the right amount of spice to keep things interesting.
Dagg Thai is not shy when it comes to heatâsome dishes can be customized to your preferred spice level, so donât be afraid to ask for it extra spicy if you dare! For dessert, Taro puff with coconut ice cream was a perfect conclusion to the meal, sweet and delightful.

From the moment I stepped into Dagg, I knew I was in for a treat. The warm, inviting ambiance immediately set the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The decor is modern yet infused with traditional Thai elements, creating a perfect balance between elegance and authenticity.
The menu at Dagg is a masterpiece. Every dish is thoughtfully curated, showcasing the bold flavors and vibrant spices that Thai cuisine is renowned for. I started with the Scallop Bites, which was a perfect harmony of herbal, salty, sweet, and savory flavors. The fresh ingredients and aromatic herbs made it stand out as one of the best Iâve ever had.
For the main course, I opted for the Pla Tod Kamin and Kang pu. The Pla Tod kamin which is deboned Branzino was perfectly cooked, with a delightful mix of textures and a sauce which comes on the side that hit all the right notes â sweet, savory, tangy and slightly spicy. The Kang Pu which crab curry was rich and creamy with just the right amount of spice, accompanied by perfectly steamed angel hair noodle that soaked up every bit of the flavorful curry.
The highlight, however, was the dessert: Homemade Taro Puff and comes with coconut ice cream. Crispy pasty puff stuffed with taro paste was so yummy!!!!
The service was impeccable. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about ensuring a wonderful dining experience. They were happy to provide recommendations and tailored the spice levels to our preferences.

Read moreThere are many good thai spots in NYC, and Dagg is a new addition to Midtown. The scallop bites and dagg haeng noodle are my top picksâsome unique thai dishes that you couldnât find elsewhere.
The restaurant spans two floors with a high ceiling and a gorgeous bar. The wooden furnishings and warm service deliver a homey vibe, just like what their name âDagg suggests.
ïŒScallop Bite $18 ** Everyone raved about their scallop bites and I totally got the hype. The scallops were well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. We poured the caramelized coconut sauce and wrapped the scallop with the assorted toppings and BOMB â it was a harmony of thai flavors bursting in our mouth.
ïŒCrab Cake $19 We were recommended to try their crab cake. It was a meatball mixed with minced pork and crabmeat. I wished there was more crabmeat. It was quite salty but the sirracha dip balanced out the saltiness.
ïŒDagg Haeng Noodle $26 * Highly recommended!! I didnât expect I would like this dry mix noodle that much!! Served with crispy pork belly, it was topped with minced pork, beansprout, stringbean, and peanuts. The sweet soy sauce had a spicy kick which made the dish more enjoyable. The noodle was perfectly chewy and flavorful in every bite.
ïŒNuer Yang $34 The steak was cooked to medium rare with a pinkish center. It was accompanied by a side of sticky rice. They kept the sticky rice in a bamboo case so it wouldnât dry out quickly. The steak could be more marinated but it was great with the chili sauce.
ïŒTaro Puff $17 * I am a fan of anything taro and this taro puff had my heart. Wrapped in a flaky shell, the mashed taro was smooth and not too sweet. The portion was very small for the price youâre paying though.
