🔥 NEW LIC BBQ SPOT - WORTH THE TRIP! 🔥

EDIT: came back a few weeks later for dessert cocktails and it still hits. Their frozen coquito drink … holy shit. Could not control the urge to slurp it down. They’re also so awesome about accommodating requests. Asked for an off-menu drink and was delivered a quality chocolate martini. They clearly know and love what they’re doing. Oh my gosh. I’ve walked by here pretty much very damn day for the last few years but finally went in and wow! Delicious cocktails and amazing service. The quality is actually nuts. We got a Y’all need Jesus (pictured), Whiskey Sour, and a carbonated coffee drink and they were all unreaaalll. Was not too crowded on a Saturday night but got busier as we sat and it was still a great vibe. The bartenders are bomb. Go here!

Came here on a cold Saturday after having dinner nearby. Impressive cocktail menu, but the drinks looked overly complicated and the bartended told me the one I was interested in is on the sweeter side. I just opted for a Negroni and surprisingly it was one of the best Negroni’s I’ve had. I’m not sure what they use, but the ingredients are very well balanced (not your typical overly bitter Negroni). The staff is friendly with a nice upbeat energy. Music was groovy and my friend enjoyed her wine, she said she was able to taste the subtle fruity notes in the rosè. Overall, it’s a really cool spot, I’d probably return.

This place quickly became my favorite place to go to. First off, if you’re looking for a place with great beer selection, you’ve found the right place, and if you’re looking for a place with amazing cocktails you’ve found the right place. I’ve been to many bars and none of them can toe the line of having both areas done so well as bierwax queens. When it comes to food, while their menu is small, the Grilled Cheese with Fig Spread is DELICIOUS and you can even add Prosciutto.

Next, the staff is incredible, Rudy, Ariel, Bailey, and Chris are the best. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable, they will help you decide on what to have if you ask. Quick service even on crowded nights and very accommodating.

Now the actual look of the place. This is a stand out in Ridgewood. From the vinyls lining the walls, to the Star Wars figures and helmets, this place is just, for a lack of a better word, DOPE. It is extremely spacious, with two sofas you can sit on, but if you’re like me, the bar seating is the place to be. They also have high top tables if you come with a Small group or even a large crowd. Along with high ceilings, amazing decorations and art, you will not be disappointed by this place.

If you’re like me, the music at a bar is extremely important. This place has an AMAZING music selection and it just keeps growing, you’ll find yourself bobbing along to songs you know and also learning about new music and enjoying that as well. Along with DJs who come through and put in a clinic on certain days you’ll have an amazing time.

I know this review is very long but i had to try to do this...

For starters, being a local who’s been working in the bar industry (craft beer, specifically) for a few years, Aftermath is an absolute gem. Watching their cocktail and spirits focus expand under Rudy has been a joy- their menu is eclectic, wild, ambitious, but always palatable and approachable. Everything feels intentional and grounded, blending a rich catalogue of familiar and adventurous flavors. The beer program seems as strong as ever, which coming from being under Bierwax’s (the fantastic (and still advising/influencing??) Maestro’s) direction, is a huge compliment. You can expect a tightly curated and varied selection of regional, hyper-local, and import brews on draft and in cans/bottles that easily competes with some of the better known taprooms in the city. They’re introducing expanded snack/food options as well, which I’m looking forward to. I could go on and on… The atmosphere. The simple but pleasing decor and layout. The vinyl listening experience, live performers and events. The weekend DJ’ing that always feels natural, fun, integrated, and completely unforced. The service that makes you feel welcome, valued, and cared for way beyond what you’d expect of a relatively upscale craft beverage bar. Aftermath is just one of those places where you have to really stretch to find something wrong with it, and they’re obviously only going to get better with time....
