Sakman Grill & Gourmet — Restaurant in New York

I know this family for over 40 years, I even remember there Dad, and in the middle eastern culture I know for a fact the elders a very highly respected and it shows in how these 3 brothers run this neighborhood staple! Whether getting a delivery or picking up yourself the prepared food is second to none, and if by any chance something was not too your liken, we’ll all it takes is saying it and the situation will be addressed without questions asked. I believe there motto is that “pencils have erasers for a reason” and that saying, everyone makes mistakes, but it takes a big man to fess up and take ownership as easy as these boys do.

Walking in the store initially and seeing the deli guys “WHO ALWAYS SAY HELLO” and then passing one of the 3 brothers who are ALWAYS working it just feels like a family place. Comfortable and at ease are lot even close to the the feeling one gets walking in here, and the owners work hard at having that feeling be felt. If you look for something an by chance they don’t have it, no matter what it is they will let you know it will be ordered and let you know when said stuff came in. With the way things have become in this world, and especially in the US, places like this are far and few and oh how we need them.

I ordered two large mango smoothies with carnation milk and Vimto syrup and was given a nasty drink that did not even taste like mango and was like a slushy texture, it even had pulp in it and when I called the store to tell them he said they use fresh fruits for their smoothies and if I wanted another drink for me to go to the store and give them the drinks back and that they will make it the same way because that’s how they make their smoothies. Never again! Love...

Had the Chicken Shawarma (chicken over rice) today and it was flat out delicious. My only gripe is that I would have liked to see an housemade hot sauce customary in Chicken/Lamb Over Rice instead of Frank's Hot Sauce but I can't complain about anything else.
