Al Bait Baitak Restaurant & Hookah Lounge — Restaurant in New York

We arrived and ordered two hookahs, waitress was so nice and welcoming—wait on the hookahs was a little bit, understandable, they’re busy. But unlike most other lounges they do not bring the hookahs out with charcoal, instead you wait for the garçon to bring charcoal. The wait on this was unreasonable to the point of me having to ask multiple times for charcoal. First garçon went around to others, didn’t bring us charcoal. Second, walked right by us, ignored us. I was frustrated (this must be a prank?), took the waitress hunting someone down after forever to get the hookahs lit. At which point the waitress assumed an aloof, flippant attitude for the rest of our visit. Another staff came and offered us tea on the house which was very nice—asked us black or mint, we said mint, he brought us black. I had to very awkwardly send one back for my friend and the waiter gave an explanation that he had mixed the words up in Arabic, didn’t make much sense to me (said as if I hadn’t spoken to him in Arabic when I walked in). We smoke and they randomly bring us a Coke—I thought this was just another gesture given the amount of slip-ups, but then the attendant came out and said they had brought it for the wrong table, took the Coke back. He brings it back to us however and tells us it’s on the house (presumably realizing how bad that looked). We then receive the bill charging us for the two hookahs, two waters, tea, and Coke. Local spot. Super chill and this guy is playing DotA, smoking and drinking his tea next to me. How cool is that!!

I think it's my third time here. Everytime I play a new board games. You can pick up some classic and it's not idea spot to play seven wonder but of course you can and have to bring it too. Everytime the same is the quality hookah and they change the coal pretty often. Wide selection and strong flavor with the great price. I don't remember how much they charge anymore but it's pretty decent.

Usually I would go for a selection of tea for the table, a small snack and hookah. You can walk away pretty cheaply that way.

Best part is everyone here are local. It does feel like being in another country but still in Brooklyn. I dont think food is a big thing here that's why i always go here after a meal. It's more chill and play a game or two.

My favorite place for hookah! They pretty much always get my flavors right (and there's a huge variety). If there's ever an issue with it, it gets fixed asap. It's great to just come to chill, game, study, etc. Food has immensely improved over the last year and it's really good (quesadillas and sandwiches a must try). Staff is chill af and fun and music caters to the variety of customers that hang there. Favorite place to go hands down, really recommend. Not the spot to go if you're looking to...
