Excited to see a Korean eggdrop style sandwich shop opening up in Sunset Park, Brooklyn! They serve the best fluffy egg sandwiches you can indulge in. All the sandwiches are made to order, so it took ~10 minutes but it was totally worth it. The portion was big and kept me full for hours.
* Hotpot Sammich* The marinated beef slapped—they used thinly sliced beef and cooked it in sweet teriyaki sauce. It tasted different from bulgogi but had the similar sweet and savory delights. It also brought together soft and airy eggs with melted cheddar cheese in a pocket of two golden brown brioche slices. The bread was fully coated with the teriyaki sauce.
* Signature Sammich Two pieces of spam, ultra-thick scrambled eggs with corn and lettuce were all wrapped together in the buttery toast drizzled with their secret sauce. The sauce tasted like a mixture of mayo, siracha and thousand island dressing. It didn’t knock my socks off as the hotpot sammich did. If you like eggs, the scramble in this sandwich was way creamier and fluffier.
* Cloudy Coffee Boba* I was amazed by this coffee special! They added some brown cane sugar to sweeten the coffee but surprisingly not too sweet. The boba was cooked to the perfect chewiness.
* Strawberry Matcha Dlite It looked aesthetically pleasing with green and pink layers, yet it tasted like milk with a very light aftertaste of matcha and strawberry. The matcha powder might be too mild to stand out...
Read moreI don't usually write reviews, but after my experience at Sammich Shop I felt compelled to shout it from the rooftops -- this place is outstanding! If you're a sandwich lover like me, do yourself a favor and get there ASAP. First off, the Sammichs are next-level. I had the Signature Sandwich (Spam, Lettuce, Cheese, and egg with corn), and it was hands-down one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. Every bite was loaded with flavor. It’s simple, nostalgic, and deeply satisfying. If you grew up loving Spam, this place will hit you right in the feels — and the taste buds. But what really makes this place special is the owner, Katee. From the moment I walked in, they greeted me with a genuine smile and made me feel like a regular, even though it was my first visit. Welcoming, and filled with good vibes. You can tell they truly care about their customers and take pride in every sandwich that leaves the kitchen. It's clear this place is a local gem -- while I was there, a stream of regulars came in, all greeted by name. You can't fake that kind of community. Whether you're grabbing a quick lunch or looking for your new favorite spot, Sammich Shop is the real deal. I'll be back --...
Read moreI learned about this restaurant through Instagram where I saw their food and interior photos. It was a little bit out of the way for me since I don’t live in Brooklyn but it was an easy ride over.
The interior was very cute with a photo zone for visitors. The decorations were adorable as well.
I had a bunch of things during the visit.
CHICKEN SLIDER with the tender sous vide chicken, and SPAM SLIDER with smoky grilled spam. The soft brioche buns, egg, and creamy sauce on the sliders were delectable.
HOT POT SAMMICH SANDWICH - The toasted milk bread cradled layers of beef, thick fluffy egg, and veggies. After the initial crunch, the sandwich melted in my mouth like a dream. I tasted hot pot spices, which I appreciated a lot.
The potato chips on the side seasoned with special spices were super crunchy and savory.
Iced strawberry matcha latte and BUTTERFLY tea LEMONADE - the drinks were amazing. I do not like overly sweet things. However, the shop made it so the sweetness was just right.
The folks are super nice here and the restaurant is well worth the visit. Stop by Industry City a few blocks away while...
