My mom and I stumbled upon a gem in the heart of New York City: Sandro’s. Nestled conveniently near our event venue, it was the perfect spot for a pre-event lunch. From the moment we stepped inside, we were enveloped in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff greeted us with genuine smiles and courteousness, setting the tone for what would be an unforgettable dining experience.
As we settled into our seats, we couldn't help but admire the charming ambiance of the restaurant. Soft lighting, rustic décor, and the aroma of freshly baked bread created an inviting atmosphere that immediately put us at ease.
Our anticipation grew as we perused the menu, filled with an enticing array of Italian classics. Each dish was a work of art, beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. Every bite was a delight for the senses.
What truly made our experience memorable was the impeccable service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction, making us feel like honored guests from start to finish.
As we reluctantly bid farewell to Sandro’s, we knew that this would not be our last visit. We left with full bellies, happy hearts, and eager anticipation for our next culinary adventure at this wonderful restaurant. Sandro’s has undoubtedly earned a cherished place on our list of go-to spots in the city, and we cannot wait to return. Grazie mille for a truly unforgettable...
Read moreBeen coming to Sandros since I was a kid for over 10+ years. Food is always amazing. They always made me feel at home. Always supported this small Italian restaurant before and after their move to 86 st. But something has changed. Last time I went I was treated so poorly by the hostess and was blatantly ignored. Was meeting my mother for dinner who did not arrive yet and was treated as if I was an inconvenience to the hostess for simply asking if my “mother arrived?”. She told me she was too busy to deal with me but was happy to assist others and welcome patrons warmly. After waiting patiently I asked if I could be seated while I wait for my mom and was completely ignored. More patrons shuffle in. Like I said, I have been going here for years and have always been welcomed and treated like family from start to end of the meal. Most of time I have gone I have been accompanied by my family, I myself (a young minority) felt very uncomfortable with my treatment and felt it was based off my looks. While I don’t want to believe this was racially motivated, I can only wonder what would have happen if my mother asked if I was there and if she could sit down while waiting for me, what the treatment would’ve been like. I was so disappointed and heart broken by the way I was being spoken to I left and told my mom we were eating...
Read moreWe came here on a Sunday evening close to closing and they were very sweet and happy to seat us.
Ambiance: The bar area is really nice. They have done a great job with table set up as well and I love the colored water glasses. Sandro’s is great for big groups, small groups and dates.
Service: everyone was very friendly. Our waiter was very helpful on giving us suggestions on what to order based on our preferences. He also gave us advice on whether certain modifications would work with our meal choices.
Food: They started us off with complimentary bread and bruschetta. The bruschetta was really yummy. A classic and simple take on bruschetta which was perfectly seasoned. The bread was also nice and soft. As our entree, I got their vodka sauce with house made fettuccini. The pasta felt perfectly cooked and I really enjoyed the sauce with it. The spaghetti pomodoro was also on point. It had the right amount of pasta or sauce ratio and the sauce was really flavorful.
Price: we got 4 entrees and 2 glasses of wine and our meal came out to about $50/person.
