If I could give a place no stars, this would get the boot but I cannot so one it is. We’re visiting NYC and decided to stop in this place. Everything was great to start, it was busy being days before New Years and we were told there would be a 20 min wait, surprisingly we were seated in 5. Then everything quickly went downhill because of our server. Initially she was quick to get our drink orders and we were served. After, I had to flag her down after entirely too long from chatting with other workers behind the bar to get any kind of food ordered. This set the tone for the night. The entire 2 hours we were forced to sit there, because of the inattentive waitress, she stopped by our table about 4 times. She was consistently within eye shot, behind the bar, chatting, laughing, and hanging all over other workers. We had 3 different people bring out food and drinks, none were her. Still over at the bar with coworkers. After the food did arrive, she literally did not come back to our table, or any others, for at least an hour. If we had actually needed something (like our waters refilled, good thing we had other drinks I guess) I would have had to have gotten up to get her. I watched 4 other tables around us, 2 being extremely large parties get seated after us, food after us, and yet get the check and able to leave MUCH before us. She finally came back a good hour after the food had arrived, and we had been done for a good portion of that, to ask how things were, convenient since we were done. She didn’t attempt to clear any plates, but considering we were sitting there and a friend asked for the checks, you’d think she would have understood we were ready to leave. Guess she didn’t, we spent another 20 minutes staring at her as she once again sat behind the bar not working. Finally she proceeded to come back over and we once again asked for the check, which she finally brought, but never asked if it needed to be split, which is not the end of world but really not convenient since we knew we wouldn’t see her again for quite a while. On top of this i had planned to just leave a poor tip for the extremely poor service and be done at the willing of friends, but the gratuity had automatically been added. At this point I lost it, and went downstairs to speak to a manager about the situation. The manager was kind asking if I needed anything like a drink, but absolutely not - I wanted nothing more than to get out of this place after this horrible experience and time consumption after a long day in the city. She came upstairs and I’m assuming talked with our waitress as she did come to collect the card finally. What surprised me the most was after we had paid the waitress came over, with the bartender as backup I might add, to ask if something was wrong. I gladly explained what was wrong as it should have been obvious, including that there was no tip deserved but I didn’t get that chance to which she replied I should have asked to have it taken off. How would I have done that when we never saw her and that it’s not my job to do hers. If I don’t do my job, I don’t get paid for it, why does she? The bartender decided to smart off at this, and while I didn’t hear what he said nor cared for that matter, I honestly could not believe he had the audacity to say a thing after the situation. There are so many ways each staff member involved should have handled this situation. I wish I did live in NYC just so I could tell people to avoid this disaster of a place at all cost. To add, the food was good, except the burgers 2 got. Medium - Well means slightly pink, well is no pink. The supposedly medium well burgers were extremely dry they had been cooked so long. Worst burger...
Read moreWent to Sean’s for dinner and drinks before TOTR after finding this place 3 years ago. Seated quickly, however when the server came to take our drinks order, we asked if they do pitchers of beer as it’s not on the menu. She said yes and priced them between $30-$40 and She then thrust the drinks menu at us saying there’s “over 60 beers I don’t know”. I immediately felt uncomfortable and made to feel like I couldn’t ask questions. Meal came, mine was cold but it was tasty. The rest of my party enjoyed their food. When the bill came it had 20% tip added, not a problem as that’s what we tip. I handed her the card and she snatched the bill wallet from in front of me and walked off which infuriated my party as she’d already been so rude. She came back with receipts to sign and just thrust them in my hand and walked off, no please or thank you. I went and spoke to the manager but he wasn’t interested. No apology or anything. I said I’d happily pay 10% tip but not 20% and he said it’s mandatory to pay 18, 20 or 22%. This is an appalling way to a business. I understand how the tipping works here and am happy to tip but you’re never going to get great service when it’s a minimum of 18% regardless of the service you receive. He reduced the bill to 18% tip and she returned the card and made an insincere apology. When we left, the manager at the door wouldn’t even acknowledge us. We won’t be returning which is a shame as we enjoyed this...
Read moreThis was the first time we were able to eat inside since the COVID pandemic started. We had decent expectations for a restaurant as nice as it is, as well as, being this close to the Rockefeller Center. Sad to say that our expectations were not met. I believe in giving credit where credit is due - the food was spectacular!! That was the only great thing about our visit however. It took 20 for our drink orders to be taken and another 20 to get them. We were seated for close to an hour before I had to get a waitresses attention to place our order. Our food then took another 30-45 min to arrive (delivered to the table by another waitress), and when it did we got our appetizer and meal at the same time. My boyfriend and I ordered a second drink and that arrived quickly (by a third waitress). After being at this restaurant close to three hours we had to ask for our check, which then took another 20 min, brought by fourth waitress. The bill was incorrect, when I questioned the young lady about it she said, "I don't know, do you just want another drink to make it right. I don't want to print another check. We get the table numbers confused." Note - receiving another drink that was on the check still did not correct the issue. So after spending $120 on lunch - $45 over the correct amount. We paid, tipped and left. I will not be in an...
