This restaurant helped me feel relaxed and welcomed on a day when I needed it most. Calming music and comfortable seating allowed for me to feel at ease in a busy area of town. (All chairs were cushioned, and the booths had pillows) The staff, mainly Tina, were very kind and did a wonderful job of tending to my wants and needs; I never had to ask for anything, as she came to me and asked if there was anything she could do for me as soon as the thought crossed my mind. I came at a slower time of day and by myself, but I never felt alone. They have different drink options if you ask, and very wonderful sake choices! It appeared very tidy too! I only came in for some drinks and dessert (which were wonderful), but I overheard several other customers speaking very highly of the food amongst themselves. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone! *Side note: every restaurant has its own scent, and this one was very refreshing and savory. It had a mild scent of cool autumn air mixed with an even more mild scent of freshly made tempora rolls and ginger. Their decorations and interior design was mostly traditional and the ceiling tiles over the booths showed their intentions to make the space very beautiful with respect for nature. They have been here for a decade and I hope they remain for many more!
Edit: this is coming from a health inspector from Suffolk County- from what I could see from a customers perspective, it shows all of the signs of a restaurant run by people who really care about the health and happiness of...
Read moreI WILL never go here again! I have been eating here for months, but that all changed today! Smh. So, I placed an order for pickup, thinking it would be easier than waiting in the restaurant like I normally do...Big mistake. When I arrived to pick up my order, the lady tells me it's not ready. Okay no big deal - right? Or so I thought. After waiting 10 mins, the lady beckons to me and tell me, my food is ready. I think to myself perfect! I am starving! I get up to pay and that's when all hell breaks loose. The lady tells me my total, and I think to myself no, that's not right. I ask her to tell me what she charged me for and its two lunch specials, something I didn't even order! As I try to tell her the mistake, she begins to yell -yes-Yell at the top of her lungs, that I am wrong and I did order that! Um excuse me?! Did I bump my head on the way here and get amnesia? Hmm, I think not! After she yells some more, she walks off and begins to take another customer's order. Leaving me and other patrons standing there in shock.. Needless to say I walked out and went next door and got something else. The food is good but lack of customer service, coupled with screaming waitresses is...
Read moreThe worst restaurant I have ever been to. My son and I went to this restaurant today. The server here had an extremely bad attitude. I think she might be the owner. We waited for half an hour but our food still hadn’t arrived. My son was very hungry. I told her nicely that my son was very hungry and asked if they could prepare the food quickly. Then, she came over aggressively and blamed me, saying that if I was in a hurry, I should have told her in advance.
At that time, only my son and I were in the restaurant—there were no other customers. She said they weren’t just serving me but also handling takeout orders. But shouldn’t she have informed me in advance, saying something like, ‘Sorry, we have a big takeout order to handle, so your food might be delayed’?
I’m not the owner of this restaurant—how would I know they were working on a large order? It was their failure to communicate, yet she blamed me to my face. On top of that, she kept cursing me in Fuzhounese from the back, not realizing that I am also Fuzhounese and understood everything she said.
