This place used to be such a great spot for delicious breakfast and lunch until the management changed. The new manager, LORENZO, is terribly rude, crass, and incompetent. As a frequent customer, I always encounter the same cheerful and kind people who work there, like Juan and his brother. But Lorenzo has no sense of what great customer service is at this place. He was so rude to my mother that I had to confront him. Since there is a frequent customer program, I have earned A LOT of points which equate to deals like a free coffee, 15% off, $X amount off a breakfast sandwich, $10 off your whole order, etc. When my mom went to use one of those deals that we’ve earned by frequenting the establishment so often, Lorenzo gave her a nasty and incompetent response because he does not know how to run a cash register and told us to never come back after I confronted him for his rudeness and incompetence. Juan, who usually runs the register sincerely apologized for Lorenzo’s behavior and shared with me that they have tried to tell him how to be more customer service oriented, but that he refuses to listen. Eventually this place will succumb to Lorenzo’s bad behavior even though Queens Bagels & Delicatessen has been a neighborhood staple since it opened back in 2019. Metropolitan Avenue needed a bagel place, but sadly, this restaurant has lost its touch thanks to Lorenzo. Hopefully someone else who is more kind and competent will step in and save this beloved bagel spot. Thank you to Juan and team for all your service over the...

We live across the street from this place and had to try it. When walking into the establishment it seems that it was put together is a rush. There is no clear place the order, the bagels are tucked around the corner from the “counter” where we assumed to place an order. I guess there is pizza there since they have the ovens but no pizza was made at noon on a Saturday.
The digital menu was paused (and still is 3 weeks later) and when asked about it the response was “most people order from this part of the menu so we paused it” (with a snippy attitude). Either this deli, pizza, bagel place either doesn’t want their neighbors business or they don’t stock the items on their menu.
The bagels were mediocre at best for a NYC bagel and no fresh cold it’s to be seen. Not sure if they can really call themselves a deli or pizza place but try it and judge for yourself. Also from the looks of it bagels are not made on premises. I personally like knowing there is bagel kettle and wood planks being pulled out of the oven like at Forest Hills Bagel up the road or Utopia Bagel if you want to take the drive.
The reason for the two stars, they advertise 3 things: pizza, bagel and deli. I only saw Bagels that didn’t even impress me as a...
Read moreLong review ahead- that’s how dissatisfied I am. Third time ordering take-out and third issue with this place. My husband likes the flavor of their BEC so we kept giving them another try, but after today I’m no longer willing to spend my money here. Ordered pancakes and home fries at around 11 through their own website. Got an email at 11:18 stating order complete. My husband showed up to pick up the order at 11:25 and was told order wasn’t ready. Weird, but okay. They said it would be ready soon. However, my husband found out today that as long as they keep getting Uber, Grubhub, etc orders, any orders placed on their site will be pushed behind. Even as my husband showed them the email confirming the order was ready, they continued to work on incoming orders and leaving ours undone. It took another half hour before our order was finally completed. A few weekends ago we ordered two toasted everything bagel sandwiches. My husband got an everything but they gave me a plain bagel. Neither bagel was toasted. Same as the first time we ordered from here.
It’s a shame because the food (that my husband had to wolf down because he has to go to work and Queens Bagels took 45 mins of his morning away from him) today was tasty. However, the emphasis they put on orders from third party apps and the lack of service towards other customers has left a bad taste in...
