My friend told me about this place when I was still in LA. He was so excited about this place since he had come here to support them since they had just opened, and he admired the beautiful and friendly barista when he came to town.
It's my first morning in NYC after five years come back here. We got up at 6:30 am, and it took us 15 mins to be here by train. I was excited to experience a new coffee shop with my friends.
It was cute outside, and I were busy recording their beautiful decorations and modern styles for my Vlogs. 10/10
Unfortunately, my mood and cheerful morning completely changed after 2 mins with the cashier that date, and it gave me a wrong impression, and a bit disappointed about this place. Unluckily, my friend's favorite barista was not there, and we got snapped in the morning around 7:30 am by this lady with a heavy, not welcoming at all, and so negative attitude; not sure what happened or why she was rude to us and not happy at all. The whole time we ordered was extremely awkward. We stayed to read books and work a bit, and it was not like that with other clients. So what happened? Trust me, I tried to talk to her nicely even though she wasn't treating us right, and I smiled and wished her a great day. She got better a bit when we were leaving tho. Thank God. I felt terrible if she was like that all day.
I did not come here to this coffee to get the damn coffee since so many in NYC offer better coffee, but because my friend wanted to show me his favorite place, I supported him.
Please train the staff carefully since it's vital because they bring smiles and positive energy to clients who come here for the coffee to ready for their day/work. It would be nice to keep it consistent with customer service and treat others the same way they are supposed to be treated. This makes your coffee shop more unique and gains...
Read moreInitially, I had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately, my visit didn't quite live up to my expectations. It's possible that I just happened to come on an off day, and perhaps I'll give it another go in the future.
The cafe has a cute aesthetic, but if you're planning to stay for a while, it can feel a bit cramped, like a hotel lobby. There aren't many seats, especially during winter when going outside isn't an option. On the bright side, the bathroom is gorgeous. It has beautiful lighting, perfect for taking selfies. Which is, of course, why we go to cafes or leave the house in the first place.
The menu was a bit confusing, as they advertised "seasonal drinks," but the barista informed me that they didn't actually have any. I ended up ordering their signature drink, the Sweetbee, a lavender latte with honey, but unfortunately, it was too overpowering for my taste buds, reminiscent of a melted candle. Maybe you'll like it though?
However, what really detracted from my experience was the environment itself. The cafe became quite busy, and there was only one barista working the entire shop. It was evident that they were feeling overwhelmed, and I couldn't help but feel empathetic towards them. Initially, I thought the barista was just in a bad mood, but it soon became clear that they were struggling to keep up with the volume of customers. At one point, they made a mistake on an order and broke down in tears. It was distressing to see, and I hope that the barista receives the support they need.
With some tweaks to their drink recipes and possibly hiring more staff to support their baristas, I believe this cafe has the potential to provide a better experience for...
Read moreStaff is so strange they make it uncomfortable. It’s too pretentious. Plenty of other options now. My final straw was when they added a new dog sign “sorry NO DOGS” ever not in the outdoor area, not just to order and go, sorry but the owner posts tiktoks bringing his own dog in to do “chores.” If I can’t walk the dog and quickly grab a coffee then I’ll just go to the place that welcomes us. The coffee is only okay. Depends on barista. Not consistent.
UPDATE to the employee who responded to my negative review. My dog is also a service dog, yet your staff consistently made us feel uncomfortable even just to order a coffee to go. Once they wouldn’t serve me until they asked if a “service dog was okay” to someone not at the counter. If you’re hiring people, train them in customer care. I will avoid this coffee shop...
