Extremely rude and racist place. I went to this place for the first time after watching a great food review video [but that video might have been for their Greenwich Village branch and not the Hell's Kitchen branch]. I went to the Hell's Kitchen branch, and I am so utterly disappointed by the racist and rude staff members - Singh who was at the cash counter taking order and someone else at the back whose name I didn't catch. We ordered naan taco with chicken tikka and roti taco with paneer tikka and tea. Any restaurant serving tea always has option for sugar [sugar/splenda, etc., kept at the counter]. This place did not. So we requested for some sugar, since the tea had no sugar in it. For the first 5 - 8 minutes they didn't even understand what we are asking for even though we simply asked for sugar, and had the person at the counter been an American, I could have understood that my Asian Indian accent is causing trouble, but Singh was clearly an elderly Asian Indian male, and he said and I quote "Indians are so demanding, it is so hard to deal with Indians" - I ask Mr. Singh are you not yourself an Indian? and such a demeaning racist comment for asking for some sugar? Taco Mahal, I speak to you directly, please refrain from employing racist staff members if you want to do business in one of the most cosmopolitan places in the world and a melting pot for all races, cultures, and classes - Manhattan! I am simply dumfounded by the utter hypocrisy of this place - an Indian food restaurant with Indian staff members looking down and insulting their Indian customers! The food wasn't bad, but the blatant racist attack altogether just put me off this...
Read moreSuch a bad experience at this location. I have been going to the location on 7th Ave for years and was quite surprised when I saw that they opened up a location in Hell’s Kitchen.
Unfortunately the staff here isn’t well trained to work in the customer service industry. They were very hypocritical and rude. I was asked if I had a mask. At which point I did not. Assuming I didn’t need one , the store was empty and staff members weren’t wearing a mask either. I said I didn’t have one and was ordering to go food. It seemed odd to me that they asked me to place a facial covering while they did not have one on themselves. I then noted that the staff members did not have on facial covering either . He shrugged his shoulders and told me “sorry” , as I exited the building .
I have no problem wearing a mask in an establishment where it is mandated . But to see other people without one , especially staff members of the establishment imposing rules that not even they follow to me was rude.
Hopefully the owners take responsibility and train their staff in a better manner so they may treat their customers more fairly.
This incident occurred August 23rd 2021 at approximately 6:01pm . If management can please review the cameras as see how hypocritical the staff was. Unfortunately I will not be returning to...

Taco Mahal is one of those hidden gems in New York City that you stumble upon and instantly feel like you’ve discovered something special. From the moment I walked in, the vibrant colors, cozy space, and friendly vibe gave me a good feeling—and once I took my first bite, I knew I was in for something extraordinary.
This place is the perfect collision of Indian spices and Mexican soul. Every taco is a flavor-packed experience. I tried the paneer tikka taco on naan, and it was absolutely divine. The bold, rich flavors of Indian cuisine paired beautifully with the casual, comforting structure of a taco. It was fresh, spicy in the best way, and perfectly balanced. You can taste the quality and care that goes into every bite.
What I love most is how unique the concept is—it’s not just fusion for the sake of being different; it actually works. The ingredients are fresh, the portions are generous, and the pricing is fair, especially for NYC standards.
Taco Mahal is a must-visit if you’re looking to try something out of the ordinary that still feels like home. Honestly, it tastes like heaven wrapped in naan. I’ll...
