An update 9/15/24 Was there a change of chef or management at the restaurant? We came in today at about lunchtime, and Oyakodon, that was always moist and flavorful today was not even salty, with huge pieces of dry chicken. Teriyaki Salmon had chunks of raw vegetables on the plate and plate, in general, was lacking authenticity. Also, it felt like ramen had MSG added. At my previous enquiry, management assured me they do not use MSG. This place is one of the few authentic and to go to places in the neighborhood, I hope it is not changing into fast food like.
So far excellent place to order Ramen Had few deliveries and few take outs and every time it was a good experience To be specific, Champon seafood soup had everything it needed to have and looked and tasted good. All was packed perfectly, so nothing got spilled and in is important. One more important point: ramen here does not have MSG so you do not get sick the next day Thank you 🙂 for good service...
Read moreThe restaurant has great service, a cool look and a great layout (I dig the glass pane dividers). However, I have to be honest here and say that this was possibly the worst-tasting tonkatsu I have ever had. It looked great but the pork was super chewy (almost gummy) and had barely any flavor. But the real kicker was, the curry tasted bland! The curry is arguably the most important part of a katsu dish and it was a major letdown. It had what looked to be ground pork in it, which is different (but fine), but it was watery and had no flavor at all. The rice was fine and I enjoyed the pickled radish but that wasn't enough to save the dish. It's too bad as I was looking forward to trying the curry ramen dish, but after having that, I don't think I'll try any more curry...
Read moreFood was OK for the price but there are many other ramen options nearby. The biggest disappointment for me was the fact that the tamashii ramen was not as much ramen noodles as you would expect, only 2 slices of very fatty chashu pork, a half of a soft boiled egg (not the traditional onsen egg nor a "ramen" egg) that doesn't have any real flavor. It was very disappointing for the namesake dish. I also ordered a gyo-don to go. It was so small and was terrible. The onion were not diced and were instead long half cooked and stringy, the beef was tender and flavorful but was less than 40% of the entree ( the other 60% was the onions). Overall I would not recommend this place as a final destination but more of "I'm passing by, and I guess it will satisfy a...
