If you are looking for delicious, scrumptious, down home, straight from home to your heart type of food, you need not look any further because Taste of Heaven is the place that you are looking for! I kid you not. After viewing a clip on a social media blog, I was hard pressed to check out Tast of Heaven. Why? You might ask? Well, first, it was the [seemingly] authentic manner in which the food influencer raved about how delicious the food was. Secondly, I was touched by the humble, confident, and joyful manner of Mr. Tony, the owner. He presented to be so happy and grateful for the interviewers statements about how delicious his food is. The descriptions of the slide-off-the-bone-ribs, the macaroni and cheese, the jerk chicken, and everything else that matters 😋 Watching the clip made me want to give Taste of Heaven a try, and we did. We are on a staycation from work and traveled over from NJ to see for ourselves, up close and personal to how good the food is. We had the fine pleasure of meeting Ms. Melody, and she is a doll ❤️. Kind, approachable, and easy to speak with and kind. Mr. Reggie is a man of few words, very concentrated and a gentleman with a warm smile. And last but not least, we met the one and only, Mr. Tony! He was very busy, but returned our greeting with a genuine hello and gave a smile. He even presented me with a bottled water. Such a gentleman 👏 💙 We paid our bill, but not before showering the wntire team with a note of appreciation and good fortune. While dining outside, Mr. Tony took the time to surprise us with a personal greeting of thanks for stopping by and a hello! What a gracious businessman and an equally amazing team that makes Taste of Heaven a forever wonderful place in our hearts and minds ♥️ I am speaking love, the Brooklyn way, and will make a return trip with friends and family. After seeing a few instagram reviews raving about the best oxtail & beef short rib in Brooklyn I needed to check em out. Note: these items are only served on Fridays. I played my cards right and arrived just minutes within opening @12pm, and earned my 4th spot in line. After a short 15-20 minute wait I was let in by a grumpy senior gentleman managing the door, Place is small inside, no tables. Girl behind counter asks me for my order and I tell her a order of ox tails with rice&peas and cabbage and one order of beef short ribs with mac&cheese and candied yams. First she fills the to-go plates with the sides hands one to another girl and they both go to the kitchen to add the meat. Afterwards they hand them off to the other girl for check out. 25$ per dish plus two side, but grabbing the bag with both dishes and noticing the weight I was not mad about the price. To be honest one plate is enough for two people but since I wanted to try both oxtail and beef rib I went with both, while getting four different sides to them out as well. A short 10 min drive home and the food was still steaming and hot. My excitement was let down to see that I was given two orders of oxtails. Not sure where along their process they messed this simple two dish order but it was quite upsetting. Now I have to wait another week and try their short ribs lol. Few pointers for my next visit. Let ‘em know not to add the “gravy” which was mostly oil. Now as for the flavors, the oxtail they were tender, but I honestly didn’t taste the flavors from the instagram reviews I saw. Everything else was above average, good but not something I’d run too or wait 45 minutes in line like some...

Before we get to talking about the food, let’s talk about the service… Southern Hospitality at its finest. Usually you come to a spot like this and they rush you out with your order. Excellent service. I wanted candy yams it near closing time and they had some cooking told me how long it would take and I waited. Family Run Black Business Love to see it🤩 Now the food Sweet Lord. That turkey wing feel off the bone 🦴 Perfect amount of seasoning and sweetness. Candied yams is the best I’ve had to date it wasn’t sickly sweet you had the sweetness of the sweet potatoes really shining through spiced perfectly; most places put too much sugar in their yams where it’s mushy n sugary this was not the case. Mac n Cheese solid. Cornbread was some cornbread alright 😮‍💨 slightly coarse texture from the corn that made it very enjoyable and authentic. Turkey Chilli and white rice couldn’t go wrong with at all🔥 Got Fruit punch and grape drink that was perfect too. The food is made with love you can really taste it.
