As you like — Restaurant in New York

Firstly, I am a japanese person born and raised in Japan. I walked in to this establishment today and enquired about the ingredients of their onigiri (which by the way, they are selling for $8 which is egregious). The server turns to me and calls me PRETENTIOUS to my face for caring so much about what goes in to the onigiri. She then turned to my girlfriend and told her she should reconsider dating me. This is not a joke. These words were actually said to my face by the staff. These people are price gouging and profiting off of my culture, yet when a person from that culture walks in and asks about the ingredients they are labelled “pretentious”. I told her I was Japanese and her response was “of course you are”. I couldn’t believe the rudeness and the nerve. They are owned by a chain of restaurants in the Okonomi family. Okozushi, okonomi yuji ramen, are included. I have always had pleasant experiences at the other establishments. This cafe offers the BEST service and a delightful ambiance—cute, calm, and welcoming. It attracts wonderful customers and employees, adding to its charm. Their fun, engaging, and adorable workshops are a fun bonus.

The highlight is their onigiri, the best I've ever had. Made with love by the owner, Mai, each bite is perfect. While their pastries come from another bakery and are delicious, the homemade onigiri is truly exceptional. (But hurry because they run out usually by 1pm)

I really like this place and have been here several times for their baked goods and outstanding matcha latte drinks. However, the last time I was here the matcha latte was extremely off. It had an “off” taste? I usually have mine with oat milk so I’m not sure if it was whole milk in the drink or it was something else.
