Tera Mera — Restaurant in New York

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 A stunning new gem in Carroll Gardens! Tera Mera just opened a few days ago, and it’s already something truly special.

The restaurant was started by two amazing women, and you can feel the love, care, and cultural depth in every detail—from the antique Indian dishes to the vibrant wallpaper and gorgeous backyard patio (which is a lush little dreamworld perfect for summer nights).

The food is extraordinary. Every dish is made with clear intention and a deep understanding of Indian flavors. I had the spicy vegan cheese toast (a must-try!), the cauliflower salad (bright, bold, and perfectly balanced), and an incredible dark roast coffee that was smooth and strong. I’m vegan and was thrilled to find so many vegan options! The menu is thoughtful and unique—not your standard Indian fare—and everything is presented like a work of art.

The space is intimate but not cramped, with a cozy, inviting vibe. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they’re creating here.

We decided to check this spot out as it was new to the neighborhood (apparently day 2!!) and is in my opinion a very welcome addition. We tried a few of the items such as the masala chai, the Bombay toastie, and the samosa…they even brought out some vegetable kichidi for us. Everything was delicious. I’d say the chai was especially good and some of the best I’ve had in New York as I appreciated the spice and the use of jaggery as the sweetener. Everything was awesome across the board. The decor is beautiful (only ate inside but the outside looks great as well). Love that the menu has smaller snack options, and the dishes we got were all excellent. The toastie, pani puri, and cooked vegetable rice dish were all super satisfying and refreshing. This place stands out to me over many of the other spots in the neighborhood and brings its own unique style to the table. Definitely planning to come back...
