First of all, great customer service. I had a surgery recently and have had a hard time opening doors for myself bc I’m not supposed to lift anything heavy for a few weeks. When I stopped by, I was unsure of what to do because the door was closed and too heavy for me. I walked around the block before deciding to call and ask if they could open the door for me while I am in there. The woman of the phone was very nice and came and opened the door for me when I got there and when I left. I understand it’s a kind of awkward and strange request, but I appreciate their help since I’ve been very limited in what I have been able to do physically. I imagine that they would also be kind and helpful for people who are more than just temporarily disabled, which is unfortunately not always easy to encounter!

Now on to the desserts.

I ordered the lemon bar cookie and half a dozen macarons. They were all delicious !!!!!

I LOVEEEE LEMON BARS. lol. And to have it in cookie form is very dangerous. Very addictive. I did not want to put the cookie down. And it was the perfect lemon flavor. Very gooey and tangy in the middle. The best part was that she had just finished making the batch and the cookies were so fresh!!

I also LOVE macarons and was excited to try out their flavors. I haven’t finished my half dozen yet, but so far, I have loved the churro (my favorite), orange, and plum flavors.

Sadly, when I arrived, she had just finished making the mango crème brûlée for the next day. I was totally bummed that I couldn’t try it out!

I am already looking forward to coming back again!!...

Does Bearded Baker count as a hidden gem? I no longer know what’s hidden or underground or whatever the influencers are selling these days. Point is this place feels like a secret even if it’s not. Tiny adorable counter in the first floor of an office building. Very “corporate on the outside, rainbow on the inside”. I don’t even like sweet things really but man I come here all the time.

What makes this place so so great is how dang moist all of their baked goods are. Yes. I said it. It’s the moist, for me. If you want flaky, crunchy, crisp cookies or cakes? First reflect on your sins and second don’t come here. Every cookie, slice of cake, macaron, and scone are bursting with flavor and…well, moistness. YMMV but this is the ideal dessert texture, for me.

I don’t know what they put in everything to give that luscious, unctuous, velvety feel on the mouth. A pound of butter? Palm oil? Lube? The world will never know. But regardless I keep buying their dang cake again and...

Please completely read. I am an Amazon delivery driver. I have been coming here for a yr. Prior to that, 3 years I've just passed by this hidden Jem. I have read some of the negative reviews. People have a right to their thoughts. However, the thoughts seem bitter & untrue. The establishment isn't that big that anyone needs to spend 30 minutes in there. It's small you aren't receiving a meal. It's common curiosity. Another is about their cookies. Both Yove and Emily fully explain when the cookies are fresh out of the oven. So, if you don't understand that as an adult, Google is your friend. When I come here, I not only allow the 2 young ladies to help me on my pick of cookies, but they also make me amazing ice coffee. I also buy cookies for my coworkers who are in the area. I ABSOLUTELY SUPPORT THE HARD WORKING OWN SCOTT & HIS AMAZING STAFF!!! ESPECIALLY on a hard day of work door to door, delivering heavy packages ... so when you read the reviews .GIVE...
