This restaurant is truly a fantastic, quaint, and lovely spot that instantly draws you in with its warm and inviting atmosphere. From the moment we arrived, we were treated to excellent service. Giacomo, in particular, ensured that we felt incredibly welcomed and taken care of throughout the entire evening, adding a personal touch that made the experience all the more special.
The food here shows great potential, though there were a few dishes that could benefit from refinement. However, some items were absolute standouts. The warm rustic bread, accompanied by a phenomenal sun-dried tomato olive oil, was the perfect start to the meal—simple yet bursting with flavor. The Involtini Di Pesce Spada was another highlight, with its subtle and delicate flavors that made it a memorable dish.
On the other hand, the special of the day, a Pizzetta with beef tartare, was a bit of a mixed experience. While the topping was delicious and flavorful, the crust fell short—it was hard and lacked taste, which detracted from what could have been a standout dish.
Unfortunately, we found that two of the pasta dishes, the Fusilloni Di Gragnano and Paccheri Ai Tre Crostacei, shared identical flavor profiles, both featuring the same sauce. While the pasta itself was cooked well, the repetition of the sauce made these dishes feel less distinct than we had hoped. A bit more variety between the two would have made a big difference.
However, dessert completely redeemed the evening. The Pistachio Semifreddo was hands down the best I’ve ever had—creamy, perfectly sweet, and packed with pistachio flavor. My wife couldn’t stop raving about the Cannelloni, declaring it the best she’s ever tasted.
Despite a few slip-ups, we left feeling overall very satisfied, and we’re excited to return to try more of the menu. We’re confident that with a few adjustments, this restaurant has the potential to be truly exceptional. Thank you again, Giacomo, for making it such a wonderful evening—we’ll...
Read moreincredible spot. me and my boyfriend had a reservation for 6:30 but ended up coming a little earlier and were sat immediately. as you walk in you're greeted by the incredible pasta prep station where they handmake their pastas in front of you. i ordered a mocktail to start off with and it was beautifully made, i have no doubt their actual cocktails are just as amazing. i got the lasagna ragu and my boyfriend got the cacio e pepe. while we were waiting for our entrees a server gave us some nice flatbread with a side of olive oil and tomato concoction that i couldn't get enough of. the food came out so quick we didn't even have time to finish the bread. the bucatini is presented in a huge cheese wheel where they mix the pasta in in front of you. we ended with a 7 layer cake that looked kinda like a cannoli. the service was quick and attentive and although we didn't catch anyone's names, all the servers were working together and each made sure to check on us throughout the meal. and oh my god what they managed to make of the tiny space they have is incredible!! i was in awe of how small the place was but how well everything fit together. i was stunned to find out they have multiple locations, this really feels like a local hole in the wall type of place. they've got italian art all around the place, even in the restroom, which was honestly really engaging for us to look at as we were waiting. we even got to help sing happy birthday for a nearby table and clap along to a traditional italian song. felt like i was in europe again haha. presentation really is everything to them and...
Read moreWe checked out this new restaurant in my neighborhood last night. It's one of a group of restaurants around the city run by a Sicilian chef, Philip Guardione. This is the first one in Brooklyn. He was expediting.
The service was EXCELLENT. That's rare these days. They were very friendly and on point with everything.
The food was very generous!
Most of the dishes were slightly undersalted, which I didn't mind because I try to keep sodium levels down for BF. I find that most restaurants are heavy-handed with salt so this was refreshing.
They served you gorgeous toasted bread with a sun-dried tomato oil.
We intentionally did not have any pasta but we had very good caponata, fried stuffed zucchini flowers, and chicken Milanese which was enormous and piled with tomatoes and roasted potatoes and arugula. The chicken was beautifully fried and moist inside.
They made a tasty and cool looking tuna crudo where the tuna was cut like spaghetti with pistachios, bottarga, and olives.
We also had a lentil salad and the grilled vegetables. The lentils were a bit bland. Could have used more acidity.
The food was not your typical Italian restaurant fare.
They finish the cacao e pepe tableside and assemble the tiramisu at the table too.
Lots of options for vegetarians. We'll definitely go back with BF's daughter.
They sent out a couple of cannolis which were good. Super crispy, a little sweet for my taste , but perfect for BF. He was very happy especially since I said no dessert!
We totally over ordered, but we...
