I recently visited Lincoln Market on September 9th, 2023, with high hopes as a long-time Harlem resident. While the addition of a large supermarket to our community initially thrilled me, my visit turned into an unfortunate and deeply troubling experience.

Upon attempting to make a simple purchase of garlic bread, I was subjected to an unwarranted bag search by a security guard named Mustafa. This intrusion was not only unjustified but also humiliating. When I demanded an explanation, the night manager, Ali, attempted to rationalize Mustafa's conduct with insensitive and unprofessional explanations.

The incident at Lincoln Market highlights the urgent need for a comprehensive overhaul of training and policies to address unconscious biases and eliminate racial biases within the establishment. My emotions throughout and after this incident ranged from violation and embarrassment to shame. It is disheartening to have experienced such treatment in a place where fairness and respect should be expected.

I strongly urge Lincoln Market to conduct a thorough investigation into this matter, take corrective actions, and implement comprehensive anti-bias training for their staff. Our community deserves better, and it is my hope that Lincoln Market can rise to the occasion and become a beacon of fairness and equality for all.

I made a formal complaint regarding this incident, but unfortunately, it went unheard, receiving no response from Lincoln Market. This lack of acknowledgment only deepens my disappointment and underscores the need for immediate attention to...

Today (3/15) was my fifth visit to the Lincoln market in my neighborhood of Harlem. I like the store it is 20 minutes walk from where I live so it gives me a good exercise to walk over there It is a boutique grocery store. I like finding things there that I have not been able to find other places.. I’m writing today because I just wanted to express my thanks and gratitude to the experience, I had there today. Rondelle, was the cashier who checked me out, as I usually do self check out. The only reason that I actually let a cashier check me out today is because I had bagged coffee which needed to be weighed. Well, Rondelle is not good at her job. She is GREAT at her job! And Lincoln market needs to do everything they can to make sure she stays a happy employee because I like to keep seeing her when I go there. The reason why is because of the way that she packs your groceries. She is a balanced weight packer, A young lady after my own heart. Having worked as a cashier myself in my past, my customers always appreciated the way that I packed their bags. Balanced, easy to carry, no awkward things sticking out poking you, thoughtfulness and care is Rondelle. I have always resigned myself to the thought of having to repack my bags after I step away from the cashier. I always go in the corner and repack my bags so that I can carry them out the store. I did not have to do that with Rondelle, I appreciate...

This location has the worst set of staff members I have ever encountered at any supermarket in my life ! They are EXTREMELY RUDE and they CANNOT hide the racism that spews from within . I came in for one item and was treated so terrible from the girl at the checkout it’s not even funny. She basically accused me of taking flowers from by the exit when in fact I had a bouquet that they didn’t even carry!!! Not only did she try to compare the plastic wrap (which they did not have ) she never took her eyes off of me and so why would you think I took anything. The flowers are right next to the cash registers!!! I showed my receipt from where it was from so she can stop with her assumptions and never received an apology! As much as they stare you down from the entrance to the exit someone would have alerted you or stopped you a long time ago. But the fact that the flowers are righttttt next to the register and there’s absolutely no way to have picked them up with how hard they were staring at me why would one assume such a thing ? Meanwhile her nor the manager could see their own kind stealing bread because the focus was on a colored person . If they want to treat ppl of colored like this they should get out of Harlem and relocate downtown !! Total disgrace . When...

This market was an absolute pleasure to visit. Their selection was awesome. Their food and the quality was on par with say Whole Foods. That said it was a little bit pricey but I'll pay a little bit more for good food, great selection, and quality service. Their vegetarian meat section was also one of the biggest I've seen. And I noted that it was in the area with the vegetables so vegetarians don't have to go anywhere near the meat section to get their meat substitution products. The sushi selection was both broad and beautiful from an aesthetic standpoint and they had to sushi chefs there. Can I just say that their staff was really wonderful they were pleasant they didn't follow you around the store they didn't treat me like I was a second-class shopper it was a really great experience. Honestly I'd say bypass most of the grocery stores in Harlem. They are either owned and operated or at least operated by very bigoted people. I'd stick to this one, Lidl, Foodtown and Whole Foods.

I wanted to try this new supermarket nearby. I’ve bought bread from here that got all mouldy and disgusting within three days from purchase. I went to this store to get a refund for the bread when the store employee was extremely rude and consistently said there’s nothing they can do to help me, not even offer an exchange or store credit. Overall, my experience here was horrible, met with poor customer service and poor quality products. I will not be coming back again as it was a waste of time and money.
