A Perfectly Cozy Date Night at The Pomeroy! We celebrated two weeks of being married with a date night at The Pomeroy during Astoria Restaurant Week, and it was fantastic! We chose to sit at the corner of the bar instead of a table (plenty were available), and it turned out to be a perfect cozy spot for people-watching and soaking in the vibe. I ordered the Restaurant Week special and kicked things off with the frickles – crispy, tangy, and paired with a sauce that was chef’s kiss. We also requested the chipotle dipping sauce, which added a spicy kick – highly recommend doing both! For the main, I had the braised beef with creamy mashed potatoes, carrots, and asparagus. Every bite was hearty and full of flavor. For dessert, they had run out of the apple pie, which worked out perfectly because I had secretly hoped to sub in the cheesecake – and it did not disappoint! Creamy, sweet, and indulgent. To sip: I had a pilsner, a glass of prosecco, and an espresso martini (because why not celebrate properly?) – all were excellent and balanced. My husband got the salmon, served with a bright vegetable medley and a vibrant green sauce. He loved it. He kept it classic with Tito’s martinis, straight up with a twist – smooth and strong, just the way he likes them. We shared the frickles, split my cheesecake, and he also had the crème brûlée, which was beautifully torched and perfectly creamy underneath. The service was fast, super friendly, and genuinely kind – plus, even the water came in chilled glasses, which is such a small touch but speaks volumes. The atmosphere was lively and fun, and while there were a few overly enthusiastic bar patrons (it was a Saturday night, after all), it didn’t take away from the warm and vibrant energy of the place. We left happy, full, and already planning to come back. Thanks, Pomeroy, for a night to remember ❤️

The Pomeroy in Astoria is a delightful establishment that combines the charm of an old pub with a touch of modern. The Pomeroy sets the stage for a memorable evening. One aspect that sets The Pomeroy apart is its friendly and attentive staff. Their knowledge of the menu and willingness to accommodate special requests made the dining experience all the more enjoyable. Speaking of the menu, The Pomeroy offers a great selection of food that caters to various preferences. During my visit, I had the pleasure of savoring the grilled pork chop with vegetables. The pork chop was cooked to perfection, juicy and tender, with a delicious char on the outside. The accompanying vegetables were fresh and flavorful, providing a delightful balance to the dish. Additionally, the hamburgers at The Pomeroy are also worth mentioning. They are juicy, flavorful, and satisfying, making them a great choice for burger enthusiasts. The attention to detail in the preparation of the dishes is evident, and the quality of the ingredients shines through in every bite. It’s clear that The Pomeroy takes pride in their culinary offerings, and their commitment to providing a memorable dining experience is commendable. Based on my experience, I wholeheartedly recommend The Pomeroy in Astoria. Whether you’re looking for a casual night out or a special occasion, this restaurant has something for everyone. I personally look forward to returning to The Pomeroy and indulging in their delightful menu once again.

First brunch in Astoria and we decided on The Pomeroy, my friends and I were drawn to the Chicken and Waffle pictures and was the main factor why LOL. Anyway, pretty cool place. Surprisingly not packed on a Saturday at 1PM but we took that as more space for us then. :) Maria was our waitress and she took good care of us. Funnily enough we all went for the Steak & Eggs for the protein kick but since Chicken and Waffles were the reason why we were there, we decided to order it for the table so we can share. Steak & Eggs were good, came with potatoes & greens. Chicken & Waffles were yum and we couldn't finish it (no surprise) and didn't really need to take it home since we were all heading somewhere after. My friends went for the 90 mins. Bottomless drinks for $20 where they could interchange mimosas, bloody marys etc. I went for the Astoria Sunrise mocktail which was pretty good actually for $10 each. Prices are pretty fair and can appreciate that. Great value for brunch!

Unfortunate… the waiters and cooks were amazing (Chicken wings A+, I’m sure others would agree) and delightful to be around, and the bartender a great guy… too bad management had to rear their heads. At multiple points I watched as they berated a latino employee with racist remarks (thinly veiled threats about their immigration status when they weren’t working “fast” enough, among others), mocked a person with a disability who was at a larger table, demanded multiple drinks FOR THEMSELVES while the bartender was already overwhelmed with customers, one of them PUT THEIR HANDS ON A FEMALE EMPLOYEE( One of those things that is shocking so was hard to process it actually happened) and brought a general attitude of harassment to their employees (At one point they knocked down a tray a waiter was carrying, then blamed the waiter for what was obviously their fault). I can’t in good conscience enjoy good food and service knowing the place is run by unethical and abusive management. I expect better from small business’s in our community… To management: I’m genuinely interested to investigate just who you are and how many labor rights you MAY be actively violating… I’m sure the NLRB as well as local unions and labor lawyers would have a thing or two to say…

P.S. Don’t bother with a “All a misunderstanding come get a free drink” response… I understand ethical and legal labor practices perfectly fine… if you really care (you don’t) you’ll find someone who actually knows how to run a business and treat employees with basic respect. What a shameful reality all around, if I could give no...
