I’ve frequented this establishment for years and most of the people working there give great massages.
I booked an appointment for two people, but the second person got sick and unfortunately I was only given an hour’s notice to inform the spa that there would only be one person. The woman lectured me on the phone about it, but I brushed it off.
I got there and the massage was great but the overall experience was soured at the end when the same woman gave me my second lecture of the day, this time in a room full of customers. I understand, as she put it, that because she booked the appointment for two people she let other customers go and I sympathize with this. However, I have no control over whether a person gets sick and can’t make it, so I didn’t appreciate being lectured and blamed, especially when I’m paying to relax.
I’ve been a long time customer but not sure I’ll return now. This place would benefit from improved...
Read moreThis review is specifically for their location at 37-12 Ditmars in Astoria Queens. It depends on who you get, here, as anywhere, but some people should not be working here. I have always had a decent foot massage here, except for the last time. It will definitely be the last time. I didn't get the person's name, but he was a very tall, big guy with a fade undercut. His techniques were repetitive and boring, very ineffective. It only got worse when he grabbed a stick and started reaming my foot as hard as he could. I indicated it was too extreme, but he didn't understand. I was a licensed massage therapist for over twenty years, so I am an excellent judge of poor technique and unnecessary force. This guy just did not have a clue. He could cause some damage. I wonder if he is even licensed. You never know with these places. I will...
Read moreHorrible customer service. I've went to this establishment twice. First time the foot massage was good. Second time, I got a body massage for an hour. I tipped the masseuse 20% which turned out to be $8. He looks at it and says, "THIS NOT ENOUGH!" "$10 TIP MINIMUM FOR 1HOUR!" I was unaware of this unspoken "rule" even though I'm always aware of tipping the correct amount. I was very embarrassed and shocked by his response that it ruined the rest of my otherwise relaxing day. There are other ways to let me know this "rule" without being an a-hole. Is it really worth it to lose 2 customers and gain bad reviews over a measly $2? These workers really need to be trained on...
