After an unexpectedly challenging day, including canceled flights on my birthday, I found myself staying at the hotel connected to this restaurant. Understanding that the day’s earlier mishaps were due to unforeseen circumstances, I looked forward to ending the day on a positive note with a good meal and a birthday cake. I chose to place a pick-up order to avoid the additional room delivery charge. The online estimate was 30 minutes, yet my order wasn’t ready even after 45 minutes. While delays are understandable, especially if the restaurant was busy, what followed was quite disappointing. Upon reviewing the bill, I noticed several discrepancies. The charge was significantly higher than expected: $71.06 compared to the anticipated $48 (or around $54 with taxes). I was charged for a more expensive dessert than the one I ordered, a delivery fee (despite it being a pick-up order), and gratitude fee typically reserved for dine-in service. My issue isn't with the fees themselves but with the transparency. These additional charges were not mentioned at the time of ordering, which led to an unfortunate surprise at checkout. Due to these unexpected costs, I had to cancel my order, as it exceeded my budget. I appreciated the understanding and kindness of the staff member who helped cancel my order. However, it was disheartening to end my birthday without the meal I had looked forward to. I believe transparency with pricing and fees at the time of ordering could greatly improve the customer experience and avoid similar situations in the future. Thank you for considering this feedback.

My husband and I were staying in the Marriott Courtyard- just a few steps away from this Marriott. We were only there for one night. We walked here for lunch. It’s very nicely decorated and has a very nice aesthetic. The prices are a little pricey. I got a Caesar salad which was only $14, but then I added grilled shrimp, which was another $12. My husband got the salmon. The waiter asked how he wanted it. We assumed he meant “blackened, grilled, broiled, fried”, etc. but he only meant rare, medium rare, well done, etc. Our food came out after about 15 minutes. The portions are pretty big. However, for me, my salad was not very tasty just because most of the romaine lettuce was just the white and yellow parts- not much of the healthy greens, AND there was very little dressing on it. What little dressing I did taste, I could tell it was a homemade dressing. The shrimp was very good, but it only came with 4 shrimp. My husband loved the salmon. It was served on a bed of wilted, sautéed spinach and fennel with a side of pumpkin. It was very delicious. He also got a bottle of sparkling water with his meal. Altogether our bill was $73 before tip. A little pricey. But we had a nice, tasty, healthy lunch in a nicely decorated restaurant, with pretty good service. They also have a nice patio area for eating, but it was very windy that day, so we opted for inside. If we ever stay in that hotel again, I would definitely go to Quimby’s again.

I stayed at the residence inn across the street. Not too many options for food around the hotel unless you wanted to Uber which I did not. I ended up coming here since it was convenient. Menu items were overpriced, I went with the burger which cost just under 30 bucks with tax. I ordered it medium rare, got it medium well. That was a bummer. Besides that, the service was pretty good. It was a Wednesday night so it wasn't crowded so the food came quick. The biggest problem though was the restaurant was very cold. Granted it was 20 degrees outside, but the restaurant is connected to the front foyer and the automatic doors kept opening letting cold air inside the foyer and from there into the restaurant. It was freezing. One couple actually asked management to plug in a small heater for them by their table which they did. Another point for service.

After a long 48 hours of flight cancellations and delays I ended up here with my 3 children and niece. The tiny yet delicious buffet had well seasoned wholesome food. The large majority of the staff were sour and unwelcoming to folks with food vouchers, but Williams and Althea at lunch and Nelson at dinner showed us so much kindness and grace and it is because of them I am writing this review. Those three people were so accommodating within the limited decisions they could make and helped our exhausted group feel like we were welcome here whether it was our airline paying for our food or coming out of my own pocket. So when I return to Queens again under better circumstances, I plan to comeback here to enjoy more of the amazing food and hopefully better service from the entire staff not just Williams, Althea and Nikko. I thank everyone who was kind to us and especially making something special for my children to make them feel better after two crappy days of shuttling between the airport and the hotel. To upper management, regardless of a customers circumstances, all of your customers should be treated as valuable customers. The vouchers you’re getting are not free and you are getting paid for the food and...
