Im hoping I caught this place on an off day, or they are still figuring things out as a new business. Saw an ad on Socia Media and decided to try it out on a late Saturday morning.

Atmosphere- Upon entry, it was a weird kind of vibe for a cafe, as there was no music. The menu is also a bit overwhelming. On the brightside you can tell the place was kept clean.

Service - Just one person behind the counter thats taking orders AND making drinks. The line accumulated out the door and you can tell the employee was overwhelmed. She did her best to manage but at this moment, the place was surprisingly shortstaffed for a morning shift...in a cafe. He anxiety definitely passed on to some folks in line, as they just left.

Food - I ordered the Iced Dirty Milo and my niece ordered the Iced Pistachio Latte. Both drinks were excellent 👍

So the product is definitely good, but the service takes away from the entire experience. Once again I hope this was just an off day or something can be done to improve the customer experience as the pricing is comparable...

The place, atmosphere wise is astounding. A lot of detail went into the ambience of the place and it just looks awesome. The staff is also pretty cool too. This should be a 5 star but two minor things are preventing it to be one. The Wi-Fi connection is spotty and the frappe I had didn't have the texture of a Starbucks Frappuccino. It kinda crumbled apart after a few sips but it was still good nonetheless. Just a minor inconvenience. As good as this place is, I don't see it competing with a Starbucks but it is a good substitute since there are only Dunkin Donuts scattered around Rockaway Blvd. It definitely better than DD but that's about it. It's kinda pricey so I would place Tim Hortons over that by cost alone and this place isn't on the same tier as Starbucks so that's still on top.

Nitpicking aside, I do recommend this place. You'll love the decor and you might have better luck with the WiFi than I did. I wouldn't recommend trying the frappe on the first try. I'd go for the iced latte...

After browsing through reviews, I took a 30min walk to check this place out this morning. The atmosphere of this establishment is so comfy and welcoming. The service I received was extremely hospitable. The young lady at the counter patiently waited as I made up my mind on what I wanted to try and answered the questions I had with confidence and a smile. I ordered a black, House Blend coffee (which was so good and at a perfect temperature) along with a Bacon, Egg, and cheese bagel. There was a .99 up-charge for turkey bacon and a $2 up-charge for an Everything bagel. Well worth it! I throughly enjoyed my meal.

I also must add, during my visit, another customer whom I assume had been waiting on an order for an extended period of time, grew irate with one of the workers. The employee handled the upset customer with such class and grace and was extremely apologetic. The customer ultimately left content once her food was received. Well handled! I will certainly be back to...

Their house blends like no other. I'm that type that like extraordinary or something different. The list seems endless with things like Trinidad (homestyle) Orange juice, Trinidad Fruit punch, Hot apple cider (Seasonal in Fall), blends of coffee from Guatemala, Haiti, Trinidad, Homemade Southern Iced Tea, etc. They also carry fresh baked pastries, cakes, cookies and snacks from Jodi Bakes. The Caramel Frappe is my favorite cold drink, you must try it. It's a Christian based and owned cafe. Proceeds go toward missions worldwide, from providing clean drinking water to giving a child a toy. I also believe that you can rent the space to host a small event there as well . The atmosphere and decor stands out in that area. There's no local café that I can compare Compass Café too. This is my go to coffee shop, you gotta stop by and see for yourself.

This spot is the nicest coffee shop in the neighborhood by far. I feel so welcomed whenever I come in, and the portions are tasty and generous. The decor is so pleasing to the eye, with beautiful touches on the wall that make you feel like you're at European café. It's the perfect spot: soft music plays in the background, and it's nice to see others walk in as you grab a light brunch while working on your laptop. The bacon and egg croissant is a favorite, with spices that truly bring out the flavor tucked in a lightly buttered and flaky shell. The service is truly top notch as well. Friendly, warm and welcoming. It's also nice to know your business helps go to a great cause. I will be coming back every week, as a lovely change of pace from my home office. Highly recommended!
