Tipsy Bean Café & Bar — Restaurant in New York

Disclaimer- this 1 star review is in no way a reflection of the staff who are employed at this establishment. I just saw a post that included a screenshot of a text sent by the business owner to staff, complaining about 2 negative reviews recieved because the owner confiscates employee tips… The owner justified this behavior, stating that because the staff is paid a “livable wage” the owner is within their right to steal their employees’ tips…. The text continues to say that staff should “quit if they don’t like it”, they are not to discuss how tips are handled and the owner is legally allowed to confiscate their tips... As someone who has previously worked in the industry, this kind of behavior and trestment of staff is disgusting and unacceptable. You don’t get to pat yourself on the back for paying your staff a “livable wage” when you are using the employees’ tips to pay them…. Starbucks pays a livable, hourly wage and they don’t steal their employees’ tips to do so… I have never been to this establishment and having seen the way this owner treats the staff—...

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this excellent coffee bar, and it turned out to be the perfect place to wind down and enjoy a highly productive day. From the moment I walked in, I was pleased by the inviting ambiance and the sense of tranquility that enveloped the space.

The coffee bar's interior is thoughtfully designed, with cozy seating arrangements, warm lighting, and a tasteful decor that creates a comfortable and soothing environment. I found it to be the ideal setting for having a chill but motivated and focused day.

Saw an ad for blueberry lemonade on the street, thought that sounded nice. I watched the guy pull out a jug of store bought lemonade, pour some in a cup, squirt some blueberry sauce in and hand it to me. The whole jug of store bought lemonade probably cost less than the $7 they charged me for this cup of it.

I dunno, am I being too critical? Sorry. Also it doesn't taste great, and there was no trash can anywhere in the shop, so I took the straw out of its wrapper and was like "uh...?" and handed the paper wrapper to the barista to throw away....
