The person on the phone tonight at 8:51 PM on New Yearâs Eve 12/31/21 is the rudest person I have ever had the displeasure of speaking to. After having an already lackluster drinking experience with weak cocktails and bad food, I made the mistake of leaving my water bottle behind. It was not busy when I was there. Itâs not a large space. I call and ask if anyoneâs returned it. This person says no in the same instance that I ask without taking a look. I ask if itâs possible if someone can step and take a look on the table & he says no before I can finish my sentence. Then he hangs up on me before I can inquire further and the most infuriating part is that all he had to do was put the phone on hold for 5 seconds and look. Why do you have a phone and pick it up if you donât actually do anything for the customer calling? Lazy service. Weak drinks. Not a single other person of color in the bar besides me & my friend. Go literally...

Been coming to Ty's for over 15 years and it remains my favorite gay bar overall in NYC! The staff and regulars are friendly and attitude-free, the drinks are great and priced reasonably and it's so convenient to the subway and the other Christopher St. bars. No trip to the village is complete for me without stopping by Ty's for at least one.
Two weeks ago, I left an expensive messenger bag containing some valuable, important and sentimental items. It was over a week before I even called to ask about it. They had found my bag, kept it all that time and promptly returned the bag to me in Chicago with all the contents undisturbed and wouldn't even let me reimburse them for the shipping cost. THAT is above and beyond service to their patrons for sure. THANK YOU JOHN!
Will be at Ty's each and every time I'm visiting NYC! You guys...
Read moreHave been coming to Ty's for years as a visitor from Scotland, and very much consider it as our "local" when in New York, to the point where the some of the regulars now regard me and my husband as one of their own. This is where I come to escape the madness of the city, and where I can feel at home - even when that is 3500 miles away. Super friendly, it's an LGBT institution in the city, in the heart of the West Village and attracts mainly a more mature crowd and popular with the "bear" community. It's one of those totally unpretentious places that just stays the same - and all the better for it. (And I love Ty's Amber Ale! - maybe a little bit...
