Terrible experience. Customer service was atrocious and they botched my hair. I originally went in to for a single process and gloss. I had sent photos of my hair and what I wanted beforehand as well. I was quoted $250 when I got there the stylist said I need highlights and a single process and gloss. I was okay with this as long as the result came out okay. It didn’t. The highlight were only put on the top part of my head, they are thick, uneven, and discolored. I wasn’t told the price of anything until check out and it came out to $430 + tip. When I inspected my hair later I noticed how bad it looked. I called the next day to ask what can be done and the manager said I can come in the following day for the owner to fix it and that I wouldn’t “leave unhappy” I went in for my appointment today to have my hair fixed and the owner decided she didn’t want to fix it because it would take too long. I let her know I missed class to come for the appointment and she said “well no one told you to do that” she stated nothing was really wrong with my hair despite the evidence that it was messed up. I asked for a refund and she refused to give a refund or fix it. I had a great experience at Vidov Salon in the West Village! I was on the hunt for a new hair stylist to do my color (blonde highlights) as my previous stylist had left the industry. I actually found Alison on Instagram (@colorbyalison) and set up an appointment at the salon with her directly for the following week - it was beyond easy and she was super accommodating to my date/timing requests! I loved that I was able to see some of her real clients posted on her page before committing to an appointment instead of staged models as you see on many salon websites.
