Umbra — Restaurant in New York

Umbra is such a fun spot!! We made a reservation without knowing that we would be pleasantly surprised with a show that was apparently happening that night. There were actors performing excerpts from a comedic play that is supposedly making its off-broadway debut in February. There was also a band playing in between sets, and they were seemingly quite young. I love that Umbra pulls various people from different places to give them opportunities of exposure. This makes me love Bushwick even more, haha.

Our waiter was very accommodating and had great recommendations. He even gave us shots on the house! We decided to go with the chef’s selection menu and it was a great choice. One of our favorites on the menu was the burger au poivre. I am telling you, I have tried my fair share of burgers, and nothing has tasted like this. Let me introduce you to your new favorite local live music bar in Bushwick. This place has only been open for a month but I would anticipate it's popularity to follow that of Red Pavilion or Carousel (IYKYK). The interior design is great the space pulls you in and the service is quick and very considerate. The main draw is the live music at present it's jazz, blue grass and more and you may not need a reservation now but I don't see that lasting long. They have a large variety of drinks and cocktails as well as some food options. It's not super expensive but I wouldn't say it's "dive bar cheep" either.
